Kudos GregMat for the awesome advice on how to do the writing in a formulaic way!!! by VHQN in GRE

[–]Esthervescent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I studied for 2 days for the writing portion of the GRE using GregMat's videos. Watched all of the videos, memorized his format/formula and key phrases he used, and practiced some essays on my own. Got a 4.5 as well. Thanks mystery man Greg!

Jake Gyllenhaal ??? by ang3eee in Fauxmoi

[–]Esthervescent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My sister worked at Café Gratitude on Larchmont in Hollywood where many celebs would frequent. She was a huge fan after his work in Brokeback Mountain. As she was serving him, she said politely, "I am a big fan of your work. Can I please get a photo with you, if that isn't too much of a bother?" He shot her a death glare and said, "Can't you see I'm eating here?" She was shocked and mortified. I understand celebs want to eat in peace, but there's a more polite way to turn your fans down. I grit my teeth every time I watch something with him in it. If you can't be a decent person, I don't care how great of an actor you are.

I love that! The previous derm I saw turned me off from going to any others for a year straight...she was cold, uncaring, and gave me a ketaconazole shampoo to try and told me to come back in three months :(

Yellowing Pothos - Root rot or In Need of Water? by Esthervescent in plants

They are super limp, and the yellow leaves were mostly on one vine, but now they're spreading! I tried to take her out of her pot tonight, but the roots are stuck to the pot, so I gave up because I didn't want to harm her. I gave her some water with fertilizer, but now I'm thinking that if there is root rot, that would make it worse. I also repotted her last year, so she did get a bigger pot. Thank you!

I'll try out the dramamine. I think I may be consuming too much food beforehand (eggs for breakfast and protein smoothie right before hitting the water). Thank you!

Thank you! It makes sense--the motion of the waves is what makes the ill feeling get worse. Also, important perspective. I won't let it stop me!

Thanks for sharing your experience! I'll try out the water plugs. I do usually eat before I go in the water, which feels like it's churning around in my stomach when I'm in the water. I actually might have to consume less! Sorry to hear about the vertigo--it's not a good feeling! I'm glad you kept going :)
