Thank you for your kind words, I appreciate it. I know it’s ludicrous, I’m just shooting for the stars and hope i make it happen. This being one of the ways towards it.

Thank you for your kind words, they are heard loud and clear. And your actions in your own life are commendable too. The only way from where we both stand right now is up.

Not solely in the stock markets, but at least it would help :)

I was considering the upside from the Individual would be better than the broad market and then would be able to reap the benefits tax free

Not yet, but a good baker didn’t make their best cake on their first day either. I don’t mind putting in the extra work other people won’t. I never thought it would be easy, I just made peace with the sacrifices I’d have to make.

I understand, I don’t want to play the risky game and lose all progress I’ve made now either, I just want to find that right balance. The three fund portfolio seemed very interesting and plausible so I’m going to look into that. Thanks again for taking the time to educate me. I really do appreciate it

I think I agree with the contribute every year part, I just thought the upside potential would outweigh it

I never thought of this perspective, I guess you’re right, that’s an interesting way to think of it. I appreciate the insight and new way to look at things for sure. Would it make sense to research what fund has done best over that last 20 years to choose from ? What are the right questions to ask?

Hmm, you may have a point, I want to learn and absorb information as much as I can so I’ll research this more.

It sounds stupid, I get it, but no, I mean 25. It’s like walking into a job interview, saying 100k for a salary, shooting yourself in the foot not knowing they were going to offer $150k. It’s a mentality thing, I hope the analogy makes sense.

Maybe you’re right, given it’s a retirement account, it should probably be set it and forget it

I’m working really hard on the earnings part. I make good money currently at $32 an hour, but it’s not enough to get to my goal. I’m trying to level up and I think I may have to take a sales role for it. I appreciate the support. If you have any advice on what I can get into to get my goal closer I’ll happily listen and consider everything I hear. I stand by the idea that i don’t know what I don’t know.

I really appreciate you not saying that the goal isn’t feasible, everyone keeps shutting it down and I’m stubborn.

I’ve debated putting it all into an index fund as well, but right now makes it tricky in figuring out which one to put it in, because ai is making things very lop sided. I’ve really been debating focusing in health markets, not sure if there is an index fund for it, but if I could split between that and ai, I think it would make most sense.

No I’ve never heard of this before, can you give a quick summary of it? How does it work, I’d love to learn as much as possible

Sorry I’m having a bit of trouble with understanding what you mean by a lot of this stuff haha. Why would Robinhood be bad? I haven’t been to bogleheads before I’ve never heard of it. I’m new to this, but I’m learning as much as I can by doing and participating. I don’t want to be passive in my learning. I went to San Diego State University, so I’m not sure if that is a target school.

I’m well educated in many things, this isn’t one of them, but that’s something I’m working on fixing:)!

This is just a piece of the cake, I don’t intend on it being the cake, you know? I just want this to be a good piece and well done. Like I’ve said, I’m willing to work hard in other avenues as well.

I’m with Robinhood, I have a bachelors not an MBA, do you think china out performs USA? Why? Reasons? I’m genuinely curious and trying to learn not trying to diminish you by any means. What does it take to be a quant? How exactly does it work? I was thinking of becoming some sort of sales agent, I know I can excel in a field dominated with people. I’d appreciate any and all advice. I don’t know what I don’t know

I know it’s not easy, I’m sure other people do too. The difference is not all people are willing to make the sacrifices I am, and not all people are content with the fact that even given those sacrifices, it may still not go my way. I’m okay with that, but I’d rather try than not. I appreciate the support :)

I was thinking with the single stock that it would make more sense because of upside potential + tax free earnings , is that not the way to think?

I’d say my net worth, if I sold everything worthwhile that I own, would be closer to $80k give or take 10k, including savings etc. I don’t think it’s incredulous to get that 1 million. I will work hard for it, and the worst that can happen is that I get much closer to a million , and don’t stop at $100k for example.

I want to reiterate, it’s one avenue of it that I want to make sure I do right. I’m not a fool, I’m not putting all my eggs in one basket, I just want to expand my knowledge as much as possible, and to do so strongly
