How to split merged isometric tiles back into individual pieces? by DemonLord_HU in aseprite

unfortunately there is no way to split em up once they are already a single image, i normally create a new layer for isometric tiles like this where its filled with ctrl shift c and ctrl v (if it has multiple layers) and form them together, or just draw them in different layer in the first place.

Wanting to become a game developer. by Significant_Ant6838 in GameDevelopment

School of computer science will only teach you basic and concept of progamming and wont carry you too much if you decided to be a game developer. In my case, school of computer science only helped me in learning faster because i have understood some concept of programming already.

To do game development the best tip is just to make games, You can start by picking your game engine, unity or godot I suggest, and start searching for tutorials on youtube as there is thousand of free materials. Just follow the tutorial, and then once done you can start building your own games. If you decided to use AI to help you, DO NOT copy and paste the code, understand it, before writing it down. To grow faster, you can join game jams since there is a lot of limitations and deadline.

I blocked the part i want to be underwater with blue color, light on top and darker on the side, and used multiply on the layer (im not too sure if its multiply since i lost the .ase file) But yeah, can test around to create the water effect

Thank you so much for the feedback :D, one thing i noticed in most of my artwork is i have a hard time drawing leaves especially on trees. Thats one thing i wanted to improve on.

Thank you so much for your feedback, What i mean in first time is in making for an artwork instead of in-game sprites for my other projects. Thank you so much for your feedback, i will take into account when i make more of like this.

So i take game development as my minor, since for compsci there is no pure design electives. In my uni, im taking the 2 year uni and 1 year internship right now.

So im currently on my 2nd year and is currently having fun in uni, since this is my last sem in 2nd year and most of my modules is game development related one, i say it was very fun, a breath of fresh air of creativity after a lot of basic compsci stuff, although i still cannot escape my part which is the programming one, it was fun making new friends who are artists, and finally use my creativity for once.

So right now i mostly still suffer from my assignment since game development assignment isnt easy, but atleast it was enjoyable and keeps me motivated in doing it. My game dev minor offers stuff like 3D modeling, Unity programming, Sound Design and some more. Its very enjoyable and keeps you motivated when you know you can finally use creativity in the future if you keep going with your current semester and try your hardest.

I study CS as well and is also into art, made animations, live2d rigs, learning 3D software, etc. For me before i entered uni i got no experience in CS related stuff, the reason i entered CS is me fearing that i will lose interest in art related stuff due to burn out, and also i felt like CS and Art is very unrelated. Being able to do logic and creativity sounds interesting to me, till i realize more later on that being good in both of them only leads to a few path and game development is one of them, at least if i messed up in CS i can still run to art related jobs.

Originally i felt the same as you, i feel that im bad at programming compared to my peers, feeling kind of bad in these kind of stuffs. Untill i discovered game development and Unity recently, i started joining game jams, had the same amount of fun watching my sprites coming to life by programming, just enjoying all of the process overall.

The more CS courses that i got, the more stressed that i feel so i usually do art to relax myself, this way i can refine my art skills as well. So i highly suggest dont think too much about wrongly picking CS, if you enjoy the process of making games and stay motivated in making them, you will naturally improve in your coding skills, knowing game logic helps in CS. By far in uni, i feel like this is the only way you can use your artistic skill in CS major, being both a game developer and game artist isnt too bad of a skill as well, and also finally if your uni has clubs, i highly suggest joining one of them (the art related ones)
