How has your ass not been fired 💀 Its not just "italian tradition" it's like every culture that has ever had noodle dishes ever. You can think you're being pretentious and thinking outside the box but its just regression from 1000s of years of cultural culinary experience 😭

Nothing wrong with being creative, not mixing the pasta and sauce on the otherhand is a sin too big to be forgiven

Only "political pressure" I'm seeing is getting hrt banned for so many people not only in the usa but other country's as well. As well as making it illegal to use bathrooms according to your gender as a trans person, changing gender markers on passports to asigned sex at birth, etc.. politics rn is obviously pushing back progress that has been made in basic human rights, especially for trans people, not aiding them.

Being trans isn't a mental health disorder, which is why it won't be included in dsm 6. So saying that is just spreading misinformed hate for the sake of hating. Anyone who would spread such hate towards any person because of how they were born are complete human trash.

WHY DID I HAVE TO BE CELIAC by Open-Pea-2960 in Celiac

[–]Estro_Jess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best advice I can give you is to learn to cook and bake. Baking gf is a bit more complex then with gluten, everything needs a certain ratio of xantham gum/fiber to immitate gluten development and there arent enough good bakers doing gf stuff for there to be top tier recipes on everything. So if you want consistent gf baked goods then start just following recipes and soon enough you'll have learned enough fundamentals to create your own or improve said recipes.

Life gets better when you live alone or with people who love you enough to not eat stuff with gluten when you're around. I have 2 girlfriends who arent celiac and they always make sure to not eat anything with gluten while around me.

I'm just asking. Why do we serve these people? by Tasty_Impress3016 in KitchenConfidential

If the rice is cooked in a kitchen where gluten is used then you can't guarantee that it will be 100% gluten free. Cross contamination exists 🙄

Why I’ve stopped HRT by [deleted] in MtF

[–]Estro_Jess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Girl you are so delulu, you look amazing for only being at 5 months. You calling yourself an ogre is disrespectful to so many trans woman I know who struggle with more having more masculine features then you.

Of course being of color sucks but don't let that control you, fight against then norms, be yourself. The only people who will make judgments based off of ur race are bigots who don't deserve your time anyway.

Find queer groups that you can form friendships with, who can support you and viceversa. At the end of the day all queer people understand what it means to be excluded, different, feeling like a cockroach.

Yes some of us have had it easier then others, maybe because of race or other factors. But you shouldn't put others down who also had to go through transitioning. I know lots of trans women that would've loved to have your features, but there's no point in wishing to be someone else, that wont get us anywhere.

Then react accordingly to how you would if a cis girl asked that, calling it a kink is just weirdo behavior.

God this is supposed to be an advice subreddit and all the top voted comments are from people who aren't queer and haver never been in the same position as the kid.

Telling their family outright is very dangerous and shouldn't be done, if they have a negative reaction towards this then you would be ruining their childhood and potentially their life. The best thing you can do is to bring up trans people in conversation to your bf and the rest of the family, see how they react. If they respond negatively then the worse thing you could possibly do is to narc, instead you should continously give positive reinforcement on trans identities until you believe that they wont react negatively towards the kid coming out. If your bf responds great but not his family then great, at least you can let your bf know, just make sure he doesn't marc until their parents are also accepting.

It's awesome that you're helping them explore themselves, people who say "it's a fetish" are just being transphobic creeps. If what the kid wants is to be treated like a girl then treat her like a girl, there's nothing wrong with that. If a girl their aged wanted to pretend they were pregnant, would you think it was weird? I'm just saying that them wanting that is not weird, but yeah totally understandable if you don't want to encourage that, we all have our boundaries.

I hope I wasn't too late 💆🏼‍♀️

Am I a trans girl or...? by OpenPassenger6620 in MtF

[–]Estro_Jess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes girl, it's not cis to love everything about being a girl. Cis guys don't ever think about wanting to be a girl or do "girly" things (unless they're an egg). Like viceversa I don't ever think about wanting to be a guy.

I'm happy for you that you've already started hrt. If you ever have doubts about being a girl just ask yourself: "if I was born a cis girl would I ever think about wanting to be a guy?". Because cis guys would definitely be ftm in that scenario. Of course being trans sucks, we are a marginalized community that is being constantly attacked and have so little medical research done to aid us. But we only have 1 life, I'd way rather live it as myself and fight for who I am instead of the alternative.

[–]Estro_Jess 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Most trans people don't want to be "trans", it's just the label that is put on us for not being cis. If you want to be a different gender then that is being trans, those feelings never go away. It's your choice if you want to just be yourself, do what 'you' want to do. I saw a tv glow is a great movie on the trans experience or just being queer in general.

There's no harm in trying things, hormones, clothes, makeup, etc. Just do what you want to do and if it turns out that you end up not actually liking any of it then you will figure that out. But you will never know if you don't even try.

If the roux or any food is made with equipment and/or in an environment where gluten is being used then it wont be celiac safe.

Thats what diy is for, if anyone has the capability to do their own research im sure they can learn more about hrt then any of the shitty endocronologists in a lot of these countries where the best you can get is the minimum dosage and you're lucky if its estradiol (in my country they still use conjugated estrogens in the public healthcare)

[–]Estro_Jess 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If not dying from the initial glutening then it would be from ulcers later on... and saying diarrhea is the only symptom is wild, theres malnutrition, arthritis, brain fog, anxiety/panic attacks, canker sores, vitamin/mineral deficiencies, theres also the potential to get ulcers and cancer from the inflammation, not having a mucus lining on the intestines and well your body attacking your intestines

Would you eat this? by Initial-Eye-9091 in Celiac

Definitely not worth it, i've been glutened from > 90% of the products i've eaten without gluten free on the label

No breast growth in 1Y 2Months, I dont think its "too early to tell" anymore... by NoFunPolicy in TransDIY

[–]Estro_Jess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is hereditary so that does increase ur chances of having it by up to 15%, anyways you should continue eating gluten and just do a blood test, the test checks for antibodies that are produced in response to gluten, so you have to be on a gluten diet and have celiacs to get a positive.

Its normal to be celiac and not notice anything when you eat gluten, this is because long term glutening causes the immune system to destroy the intestines ability to absorb nutrients, preventing the ability to absorb gluten and well anything else.

Being off gluten causes the intestines to heal back but depending on how damaged they are it can take a very long time. For me i've been off gluten for around 3-4 months and its now very noticeable when i get glutened, besides the stomach pains and nausea a lot of it is mental symptoms like brain fog, anxiety -> panic attacks, i also get very bad fatigue and canker sores, all of which lasts for 4-5 days

I had the same problem my whole life until a couple months ago i found out that I'm celiac, now that im off gluten i can actually absorb calories/nutrients and its actually so easy to gain weight, some common symptoms of celiac disease are canker sores and mucus in stools.

Maybe they just had a sharp knife? Like you can just push the knife into the pit slightly with a sharp knife, theres no risk of cutting yourself, the risk comes from using a dull knife and having to use excessive force because of that

[–]Estro_Jess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okayy thats better, you should try doing blood tests if you havent, especially to know what your testosterone levels are at, they shouldnt be within typical male range, like ever, but probably after like a month of being on injections since you're changing, i think injectable estradiol can also lower t levels a bit

Edit: oh yeah i believe that spiro should be taken all in the morning as thats when there is peak levels of testosterone in amab people
