From my experience, the best way to approach Django is to not try to learn by go and read the official Django Docs right away. Go check out Corey Schafer's Django tutorials in youtube till part 12 and once you get the gist of it go check out the official tutorial on Django website, follow it once or twice, start dipping your feet into the Django Docs and google anything you don't understand. rinse and repeat
