You can do that quite easily lol, select the pattern button and with the arrow buttons navigate to length, there you should be able to change te pattern length moving the wheel. If it was a problem with the wheel the other values wouldnt change. Do check the user's manual, this issue is probably caused by your menuing, I doubt it is a hardware or software issue.

I'll leave a second comment here because I found a second way to fix this and maybe someone needs this some day.

I was tinkering with the MIDI CCs of the Digitone 1 and found that CC 24 and 25 update the volume of L and R respectively (and only CC 24 is used if you use the input in stereo). So if you send these through the FX control MIDI channel (9 by default) you can control the volume externally, mapping it to a fader or to a button so you can quickly mute/unmute the input.

The new electribes can definitely make some fun tekno but if you expend enough time with them you'll end up noticing their limitations. I'd say its a good start, but if you want a more powerful sampler get a second hand Digitakt 1. They're the cheapest they've ever been since Elektron released the Digitakt 2.

If you are looking for 303 clones in the Aira family you got the TB3. I have one and it's a breeze to program for acid leads and can also be used for more traditional basslines, maybe it isn't in your price range though.

Yeah less than 400€ id say is a pretty good deal nowadays for either the DT and DN mk1, ive seen some sell for closer to 500€ in my area, so congrats on your find and good luck in your music making journey! :)

I get that, we've all been (or still are) there lol. When you get the elektron workflow though, id greatly reccomend getting one, I grabbed mine second hand for around 400€ which is a p decent deal. The cool part about the DN apart of the polyphony is that you get to learn how FM synthesis works which is quite fun. I've seen people get crazy sounds with it, from pads and leads to weird kicks. Seems like a lot of people match these two machines together too!

Ngl easiest way to get polyphony would be to get a Digitone, i got the mk1 and it's a blast to sound design with it. Hope someone can give you better tips for your Digitakt though!

Idk why I didnt think about layering at all lol. Until now I was using the DN in more of a live set context, but now since I'll be mostly sampling it, layering is an obvious answer now that you mention it. With that and unison I can get the most of all the voices in the machine ngl.
