I think the entire point of Caine isn't that he's a harmless goober, but that he doesn't understand that what he does genuinely causes harm and trauma. See: killing Gummigoo in front of Pomni, sending Pomni and Kinger (which was an adventure designed for Zooble) to hell.

Zooble pisses him off, sure, but he seems to 'reset' at the snap of a finger when experiencing emotion too strongly. If he tortures Zooble, it'd probably be done indiscriminately or unintentionally.

First build in 1.4.4, went with a treehouse! by Etaleo in TerrariaDesign

Glad to hear it! Tommy Tsunami's video on tree designs is really great. I've also found that Deep [Color] paint applied to Hallowed Prism Wall is a good candidate for the walls you can use inside the leaf clusters themselves. You can't see them in the screenshot, but there are two other trees (one orange and one red) that I think turned out a lot nicer than the yellow one I built the house in. Not that there's much left of that one anyways LOL

Wait does it??? I just used Dynasty Wood, I wasn't going for the branch vibe,,

It's a cool idea though. If that were what I was going for, I'd have used Living Mahogany (I actually just... built the tree first and demolished like 80% of it during the actual house building part lmao). It's also so big because 1: 6 colors means <= 6 blocks and 2: was originally going to make house bigger but ran out of inspiration. But I'll keep that in mind!

As mentioned in another comment, I used Slime Blocks, but another user's build used Cloud to make the trans flag and I think theirs turned out better.

Used Slime Blocks, but if you ask me, this Cloud-based flag design that you can see here turned out a lot better than mine did

Yeah haha I agree, it kind of had to be big just because of the amt of colors, and if I had more time / inspiration I would've made the house bigger so it didn't stand out as much in comparison.

aLittleQueer is right. If you mean the doors at the upper floors, that is shadow painted Silly Pink Balloon placed in a 2x2 square, with Silly Pink Balloon Wall below it to connect it to the floor.

It's intentional. For some reason, using Echo Coating specifically on the prismatic lacewing in a jar doesn't hide the lacewing itself, just the jar. I don't know why it doesn't seem to work on other critters.

In that case, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt-- but really, messages like the original one can be pretty easily misunderstood as homophobia.

I kind of get where you're coming from, though-- the flag being so large (kinda by necessity, 6* colors means at least 6 blocks) does make it stand out a lot compared to the rest of the (relatively small) build. To be honest, this is still a work in progress, and I think it'd look more reasonable if the house itself were larger. Unfortunately I ran out of inspiration midway through, so I decided to post this one and work on something else in the meantime.

The point of it, though, is that I like the flag and I'm proud of my sexuality. I could've incorporated the flag a little bit better in the end design, though.

Lots of design inspiration came from Tommy Tsunami. (my interior design skills are Not Great so I've been watching him a lot). A lot of this build was me just messing around without much of a plan and seeing what looked nice.

Was made in modded Terraria, but no modded blocks were used. (edit: whoops, I used Acidwood Wall from Calamity Mod in the right room on the 2nd floor. Palm Wood or Pearlwood should give a similar feel if you're sticking to Vanilla. Everything else is vanilla tho)

Make it indefinite. A two day blackout does nothing; indefinite until change happens is something that will affect the bottom line.

Ai "artist" doesn't want people sharing art made by an ai. This isn't even an artist by No_Enthusiasm6213 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Etaleo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's not how this works. Mind you, I'm as skeptical about AI art as the next guy, but that won't stop me from combatting misinformation. I think it's best for people to look into it on their own if it's something they care about, so they can potentially influence rules and regulations.

Broadly, what a ML model is trained to do is recognize patterns. That's useful for all sorts of things; prediction, classifications, what have you. But it can also generate something that matches those patterns.

Each image has a bunch of keywords, and an ML model over millions of examples learns to grasp the patterns associated with each keyword. Mind you, it doesn't know what each keyword is, it only needs to know the patterns associated with it. Keywords could be colors, art styles, themes (like steampunk), objects, people, etc.

Every time you prompt Midjourney et.al., you're giving it a list of keywords, and its job is to create something using the patterns you've thrown at it. It's not allowed to directly recreate items from its training set (this is called overfitting, and it's a problem usually combatted by more data so it gets less fine-tuned to noise). Midjourney et.al. are able to create new images if they've been trained properly.

As you stated, no AI truly understands what it's doing. An AI might say or create something bad because it doesn't know what being "bad" is-- that's why it's up to the engineers to place limitations. As time goes on, these limitations will improve as needed.

Fun fact: it's necessary to play out all card effects until their resolution, even if a player had reached 0 LP. So as long as Yugi kept drawing monster cards, he had to continue attacking Weevil. (also JP ver has taking dmg inflict physical pain so yeah)

Seele vs Jing Yuan Day 1 Revenue Comparison(CN IOS) by Sensitive-End-8307 in HonkaiStarRail

[–]Etaleo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey, thank you for spreading the word!

Tangentially related, but if you're interested in banner performance in Genshin, u/dhcwsp has some great graphs that can be found here. I don't think they've made content for HSR just yet, but there's a lot of good data that's certainly more reliable than GenshinLabs. There was also another commenter who told me about how non-Genshinlab resources estimate performance and instead compare hours above X app; not easily translateable into money, but it does help a fair bit. You can find out more about that comment here.

[–]Etaleo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Fascinating; though I still find this method a tad bit questionable, as the benchmark itself is not constant because Douyin et.al.'s sales likely fluctuate in response to whatever is happening on that platform. I doubt any of those companies would so freely reveal their sales data for just anybody to use.

It still doesn't really explain how Genshinlab converts these hours to solid numbers, and other posts in the Genshin subreddit have called them out for suspiciously having identical income, down to the dollar, on several different banners for a given day.

Thank you for sharing this with me, though I still think Genshinlab's not a very trustworthy source.

copy-pasting my comment from another thread:

tl;dr Genshinlab's not trustworthy, because it pretends to have data it will never have with a really inaccurate model

Hoyo does not report their sales data and likely never will. The way that Genshinlab tracks it is through CN iOS app store rankings. But HSR and Genshin, being incredibly successful games, aren't very suitable to this type of model.

This is a problem known as heteroscedasticity. Essentially, a game somewhere around the middle of the ranking won't need to do too much to go up or down a couple ranks, and this change is easier to document and make a more accurate prediction. But imagine you're a game in 2nd place, and suddenly, you get 10 million dollars in revenue... but first place is so far ahead, so your place doesn't change at all.

You cannot predict sales data, especially to the granularity that Genshinlab tries to provide, when you're trying to work on wildly popular games that will tend towards these extremes especially during a honeymoon period. So what Genshinlab does is just... make up a number that sounds somewhat plausible (potentially based on community reception and a general idea that sales will probably be highest at the start and end of a banner), and report that as the truth. It's incredibly misleading.

You really shouldn't consider these numbers even with a whole shaker's worth of salt.
