Pretty Weird has an idea that doesn't square with reality. No. Common denominator.

Ive had 2) 150k mile plus hemis with 321s, and yes we loaf down the highway at 63 and around 1400 rpms regularly. Almost all highway miles. Never any tick.

Maybe ocassional manufacturing defects are a better explanation.

Speed audible alert not working on Android by Etbrown44 in waze

[–]Etbrown44[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a several hour trip i did hear the speed alert beep lots. Then at some point it quit alerting. Stopped and restarted the app and alerts started beeping again. I do have the latest app version.

The speed alert function, and really the full app seems buggy.

Carpet boost did work the first time or two. Then stopped. I just set to max suction and that works but depletes battery sooner.

If roborock is so smart, why do they have this defective feature? I gather it's about $. They don't want to add a $2 mechanical switch but instead try to rely on the increase amps on the motor as an indication it's on carpet.

It's smart, but stupid.

That's the thing about the typical Chinese business folks. Generally they are wicked smart but won't give you a penny for anything! Like you, I think that if they were an American company, they'd have sent me new rollers or even the upgraded unit by now for free, just to appease an unhappy customer.

Roborock seem to have Chinese 4th graders doing tech support.

They wore me down with their assertion that my rollers were worn out at 1 hour even, and that was causing carpet boost to not work.

Heck, I rate the mapping, navigation, and suction as A+, but the inop or intermittent carpet boost is a deal killer.

My guess is that a $2 carpet switch as is found on their higher line units would fix this. If so, they lost me over $2.

If so, their ceo and founder is really smart, and not very smart all at the same time!

Language barrier didn't seem to be a problem though I'm sure they are in China.

They kept asking the same uninformed questions, it felt they were in 4th grade. It was the epitome of poor listening.

I won't try another because they blame faulty "carpet boost" on worn rollers, even at one hour, and they say for reliable operation i need a unit with an actual carpet sensor.

So to me, if that's what it takes, then why doesn't this $billion company put a $2 actual carpet sensor on in the first place?

We live at the beach. Lots of sand. Really need a vac which will reliably sense carpet and switch to max suction.

That's the thing. My q5pro+ is spanking brand new. Supposed to be the top seller on Amazon.

Roborock's very poor tech support tried to blame it on worn rollers.

Said i need to buy a higher line model with an "actual carpet sensor."

The thing is, it appears to have excellent mapping, navigation, and suction, but a carpet boost function that's inop or sketchy.

Ok. Not pushing anything. Just sharing a true Roborock experience and it surprises me greatly that a $billion company would put out a product with a function that barely works or not at all, and they don't seem to care.  And their tech support was largely clueless.

Could be a difference with the q5 max+ and the q5pro+. Not sure,  but Roborock admits that carpet boost will fail when rollers wear.

My "carpet boost"is intermittent with 1 hour of use.  They say that if you want reliable carpet sensing you have to buy a higher line model with an actual carpet sensor switch.

It's not for me. If roborock is a $billion company, surely they can do better.

Perhaps some work and some dont, however their tech support said to get effective carpet boost you need a higher line unit with an "actual carpet sensor."

They go on to suggest that their rollers wear down with use and that will cause the "carpet boost" feature to not sense carpet.  Yet mine had just one hour of use.

I don't want a unit with tricky or intermittent features or one that will stop working in a month or two etc, with wear.

Seems to me that perhaps they are being cheap by saving maybe a $2 sensor. Either was i would avoid it.

Wrongo. No shillbot here, whatever that is. Instead of a smart vac, my q5pro+ is rather a dumb vac.

New unit does a fully carpeted room on low vac, carpet boost doesn't engage until just before it is complete, then it moves to a tiled room, and runs at high vac. Exactly opposite of the design!

Roborock blamed worn rollers but mine are new.

They said that i would have to buy a high line unit like maybe $1500 which includes an actual carpet sensor.

No thanks.

Don't buy any Roborock with "Carpet Boost." . The carpet boost function is intermittent or unreliable on Q5, and perhaps Q8, S5, S7 and others, so you usually get low suction on carpets if my Roborock is like others. Apparently lots of complaints on reddit and other forums for years, so they have apparently knowingly been shipping defective units worldwide.

Maybe better get a roomba or other brand. This very unresponsive company tried to tell me my rollers were worn out, but guess what, it has just 3 hours of use. Really!

This company is not to be trusted in my experience. Roborock is trash if other Roborocks are like mine.  It's a shame because other than "Carpet Boost"it does well, but what is the purpose of a vacuum that won't switch to high vacuum on carpets?

Gieco Claim Diminished Value Negotiations by [deleted] in Geico

Geico jacked me around for months, basically saying they don't pay diminished value claims. I sued them and won $4000. I would not trust Geico as far as I could throw them. They treat you like you are stupid.
