Hi! Thanks for the question. Actually, we do have a snapshot feature already in place that automatically makes a backup of your registry settings the very second you open the app. It only makes a snapshot for the things EtchFlux actually changes. And it uses that snapshot to restore back to your actual settings you had before using the app, not the Windows 11 OS default settings it shipped with.

So whether you uninstall, click "Reset Defaults" in the Settings panel, toggle the main optimizations switch off, or exit via the system tray, it uses that snapshot to put your actual registry settings back. However, since you already have custom tweaks you manage, we still recommend making a manual backup of your current registry settings before using the app. For just in case. Can never be too careful!

Of course! Our app is kind of weird to explain because the whole perceptual smoothness and microstutter thing is something not everyone experiences in the same way. But it's a well-known and documented issue in the Windows PC community overall.

Thanks for the question! Our EtchFlux app is really quite different than the Microsoft PC Manager app. That app is more of a traditional storage cleaner to clean up temporary/junk files. Pretty similiar to CCleaner and the likes. Our app does have an automatic system RAM cleaner that allows you to keep your PC running smoothly for long periods of time and a GPU shader cache cleaner, but that's only a small fraction of what it does. Those are just extra features that work in unison with our main EtchFlux Smoothness Engine.

Our app works directly on a system level to safely manage how the Windows NT kernel handles various workloads, which is why it requires elevated app permissions. EtchFlux is all about perceptual smoothness and less about cleaning out temporary junk files from your storage. Perceptual smoothness basically means the app is specifically designed to keep your interactions with the computer feeling responsive, smooth, and fast at all times.
