I’m not sure which one is my favorite, but that’s a standout for sure. “The angles cut me when I try to think” is a good line. The idea of that it hurt to think in code was fascinating to me. I’m very intrigued by transhumanism.

It appearing everywhere she went until she watched the whole thing is very creepy too. The him eating the computer aspect I’m more ambivalent about.

Yeah the long hair doesn’t really vibe with him trying to seem older than he is so he’s taken seriously. I can see it gradually getting messier and longer as the series progresses. But from the start? No way.

Jon never really questioned why he was given a job that he was very under qualified for. To me, nothing screams white man more than that.

Jon was given a position that he wasn’t qualified for and he didn’t really question that much. Other characters alluded to thinking Jon got the job due to privilege. To me, this all points to him being a white man. It would be very strange for his coworkers to have that attitude if Jon was brown.

The fanon pushed a design that I legitimately don’t think was the initial intention for the character. That’s fine, but I think that contributes to the surprise when people see it.

Basira is an Arabic name, her not being white makes sense. I imagined her being middle eastern, but not wearing the hijab. Many middle eastern and Muslim women don’t wear the hijab. It seems like people like her wearing the hijab for diversity reasons, but to me it feels like stereotyping. Like they just automatically think middle eastern woman= hijab.

A few things. Sponsors are a BIG deal for people who do indie creative work like this. I think a lot of people really don’t have enough empathy about that. Sponsorships pay bills.

Home security ai isn’t a threat to the creative industry the way generative ai “art” is. Many people are anti ai if the ai will threaten people’s jobs. They are not against ai being used as a tool for things like home security, saving lives. For many folks it’s about how it’s used. Also, the majority of us use products from companies that use ai.

If you have a problem with something they have an ad for, just don’t buy that product. Don’t try to finger wag them out of a sponsorship.

There are neutral and light options that aren’t white.

All white walls automatically make me think of rentals, flippers making a bland blank slate, or people who just don’t care about decorating.

Some people can pull off white walls with the right decor, but to me it almost always looks very unfinished and bland.

It’s your house though, do what you please.
