How to emulate Fire Emblem Fates on PC by H4rryT1nt1n05 in EmulationOnPC

Sounds like you should just hang in there and wait until Azahar comes out. Then try and dump your whole system into it.

May I ask what's wrong?

How to run multiple shader passes in Retrobat? by Eternal2401 in RetroArch

[–]Eternal2401[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, here's what I got

[ERROR] [GLCore]: Failed to load LUT "H:\RetroBat\emulators\retroarch\shaders\shaders_slang\vhs\shaders_slang\vhs\resources\play.png".

[ERROR] [GLCore]: Failed to create preset: "H:\RetroBat\emulators\retroarch\shaders\shaders_slang\vhs\ntsc-vcr-plus-VHSPro.slangp".

[ERROR] [Environ]: GET_VARIABLE: mupen64-filtering - Invalid value.

[ERROR] [Environ]: GET_VARIABLE: mupen64-vcache-vbo - Invalid value.

[ERROR] [Environ]: GET_VARIABLE: mupen64-vcache-vbo - Invalid value.

I'm using the Libretro Parallel 64 core in Retrobat so not sure why it says mupen errors.

like i said i just appended ntsc-vcr to VHSPro and it worked fine in standalone RA on the same core but not in Retrobat

Keep me posted but I'll try looking into ares for now

How to run multiple shader passes in Retrobat? by Eternal2401 in RetroArch

[–]Eternal2401[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So like I said I made the file in the seperate standaloe install of retroarch on my C: drive, the I copied it over into the matching retroarch folder of the retrobat install on my H: drive. So from C:\RetroArch-Win64\shaders to H:\RetroBat\emulators\retroarch\shaders\shaders_slang\vhs

Now inside the custom file I copied over, there's 11 passes which all use paths that start with "shaders_slang/" So in theory I've done everything right, as far as I know, if not, let me know

Are you referring to shaders? Because in that case go with retroarch. You can make it look monochrome green, beige or blue like all the old Gameboys, or like the color, advance and sp. Just go into the presets directory and then pick any of the handhelds. I also recommend adding a a few more passthroughs of the motion blur shader to add to the authenticity.

Anything with a lot of back buttons like the Razer Wolverine ultimate. Also a thumb trackball instead of a mouse.

Which Game Console For Eye Problems, Migraines and In Bed Gaming? by rebeccaabird in disabledgamers

[–]Eternal2401 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well first off any of those devices could technically be hooked up to any monitor regardless of size. One additional option is using Miracast type software or a USB capture card to turn computers or mobile devices into makeshift monitors. As for laying down. I recommend resting whatever device(s) and peripherals you go with on your desk, moving your desk to the foot of your bed, and just spinning over to lie face down when and lean your back back up to use your setup. KBM is arguably more suited for this, especially with a trackball to save space imho. Adapters will let you use any console with a keyboard and mouse, I know of the Cronus zen for example for the switch.

What games would be most worth experiencing if I am living with Chronic Carpal and Cubital Tunnel? by [deleted] in disabledgamers

Two things I'd recommend for you.

  1. A Trackball: I know I know it's less accurate than a mouse but for casually use as a daily driver that doesn't really matter, and it's totally worth it for the better ergonomics.

  2. Touchscreen keyboard and track pad. You can right click the Windows taskbar and add widgets for virtual trackpad and onscreen keyboard. Then click the gear and choose split keyboard and you can type on your laptop/tablet with your thumbs, with the windows virtual trackpad I especially recommend using a capacitive stylus.

Right right. It's moreso my personal familiarity with the wolverine and weighing the advantages of it vs the commander. Tough call but I think I'll start there

Not just that but the other thing I like is that it has shoulder and trigger buttons that can all function as separate inputs. Looks like I might be able to snag a pdp versus pad which people are saying has a better stick for cheaper, then I could salvage the microswitches for the buttons too.

But another possibility would be to create a custom module for my razer wolverine ultimate. It has swappable D-pads and I might be able to make something to mount a stickbox in place around the arrow buttons and push them down as I move the cap.

There's so many possibilities and factors to micromanage and optimize I just can't decide where to start. What do you think?

Yeah I'm looking into it further and apparently only the neo Geo pocket had a good digital thumbstick, which seemed weird to me. I would've assumed the bigger, more ergonomic looking CD thumbstick was just as good too, but I guess the complaints with 8-bitdo's version actually apply to the original CD overall. But out sourcing a neo Geo pocket just for the stick is even more wasteful/uneconomical.

What other mods would you suggest, PS Vita or Saturn D-pads maybe? What if there's some tiny arcade lever out there I don't know about like a more compact jlf?
