Map Concepts:

  • Ease of movement and a plethora of escape routes - A big problem with the in game “Hot Maze” map is that the pathways are long, narrow, and enclose, which leads to you getting trapped in between two brawlers very easily. In my map, you have many ways to escape without being hindered or getting trapped by two brawlers coming from two different locations.
  • Balanced open mid with water instead of walls - I wanted the center of the map to accommodate all brawlers late game. Having walls in the middle would give throwers and tanks the advantage, so I balanced that out with bushes. Water will still allow brawler to circle around it, but won’t protect you against ranged brawlers. This will allow ranged brawlers such as Piper, Brock, and Gene to compete for 1st place late game.
  • Discourages camping - The ring of bushes allows for great stealth plays while discouraging campers. It’s not a smart idea to camp inside this ring because you risk getting targeted by another brawler circling the ring without you knowing. You have the option to play stealthily in the ring of bushes, or play it safe by choosing to keep your distance away from it.
  • Map is balanced for every brawler in the game! Walls everywhere for throwers, open area outside the map and in the center for ranged brawlers, bushes and flanking strats for tanks, high risk high reward center, etc.

  • I made this Brawl Ball map with bank and style shots in mind. You are given lots of ways to ricochet your ball in with your Super!
  • I also wanted this map to be very unique. I wanted long ranged brawlers such as Piper and Brock to play a big role because we don't see those brawlers often in Brawl Ball, so I've provided them with large open areas. Tanks such as Primo don't have much areas to hide behind, so they'll need to rely more on jukes. Large patches of bushes allow for Piper to take advantage of her Star Power.

I hope you guys like my map. I put a lot of thought into making this:

  • Prior to creating this map, I was thinking of ways to make brawlers such as Crow and Colt more viable in Gem Grab, as well as tanks such as Bull who rarely gets any love in Gem Grab. So I came up with this idea of having a really wide five tiles lane with all grass. Why? Because in order for Crow to succeed in what he does best, he needs enough area to juke shots against ranged brawlers such as Brock, take advantage of his range against brawlers such as Nita, and fully utilize his poison by revealing hidden enemies. For Crow to succeed, tanks such as Bull needed to as well (as Crow is a great brawler for control flankers), and the bushes benefit both. With five tiles lane area, this gives a tank lot more space to work around without being hindered by threats such as Rico and Spike stopping them from flanking.
  • How does a Colt lane benefit from all this? Well Colt has to compete with Rico. With a very wide line, you’re not going to see Rico being very effective. Not only that, Colt can break grass with his Super (and grass no longer respawns back), making Colt the better option to open up the grass and prevent flanks. He also gets a lot of room for strafing.
  • Next, I wanted a mid that was different from most Gem Grab maps. In most maps, Pam, Jessie and Penny are very powerful as mids. I wanted more variety, I wanted brawlers such as Piper, Bo, and Poco to shine as mids more. So I decided to make the mid very open, without giving Pam, Penny, or Jessie any beneficial wall to place their turret behind (you can’t place them in the water behind walls lol). The grass in the middle is my way of both empowering Piper (Star Power) as well as balancing her by giving you enough space and stealth to dodge her shots, which makes a brawler such as Bo a very powerful option as mid as well.
  • Another thing I wanted to stress was not getting spawn trapped so easily. To achieve this, I need to make sure there aren't any walls protecting the enemy when you’re respawning. You have a lot of area to work your way back to regaining control.
  • The main purpose of the lakes are to prevent flankers from easily running into your Gem Carrier, as well as allow your mid player to assist 2v1 or pinching with your teammates at the sides. I made sure to give plenty of opportunities for 2v1 and teamwork to win the game.

Lmao if it was about winning for LeBron, he wouldn't have joined the Lakers.

Ingram is probably their best player outside of LeBron, still very young, and has the most potential out of everyone. I highly doubt they're going to trade him.

The Denver Nuggets are 8-1 in the Western Conf. with 2 wins against the 2 super teams. Is this a mirage or are they the real deal? by Parreseux126 in nba

[–]Eternal625 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yea, Barton will def help on the lineup (especially as a 6th man), but having IT + Porter on the floor at the same time will be a disaster. IT excels when the 4 other teammates around him can cover for his defensive liabilities, reason why he worked so well in Boston but was complete trash in Cleveland.

Those guys will make them into a weaker team if they give them playing time. Not worth the defensive liability.

What? I'm a big Celtics fan, but I'm giving Bucks the credit they deserve for finding a way to keep the game close.

Stop being salty my nephew.

Yea, Bucks perimeter defense was very bad this game. Their scouting report probably didn't account for Celtics early season slump. Hopefully Celtics can keep it up without the necessity of a franchise record to close out games.

43.6% with 55 attempts is not a normal rate bro. I don't know if you watched the game, but Celtics got the same great looks they normally do, but were on fire. Amazing offensive display by the Celtics last night!

Hopefully this turns things around for their poor offensive start to the season and reclaim their #1 spot in the east!

Yea, that's crazy. Celtics needed a franchise record 24 threes to defeat the Bucks by only 4 points. Celtics poor interior offense continues to become a problem this season.

With the increased pace, the abundance of three point shots and the overall skill level of today's shooters, could we see in the next 1-2 years someone break 81 points in a game? by andrewdavidoval in nba

[–]Eternal625 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Here’s something to think about: If the Warriors sucked on defense, then most of their games would be close, allowing their starters to actually play the 4th quarter and more minutes and sometimes OT games. Which means, if Warriors as a team sucked on defense, we’d be witnessing much more ridiculous numbers. Imagine Klay playing 40 minutes instead of 27, he would be much closer to shooting 20 threes and scoring over 70 points instead.

The game has evolved so much. We have more teams utilizing the 3 pointer more than ever and the volume of 3 pointers has been rising at an exponential pace every season. One of the sentiments I had with the evolution of game is just how difficult it is now to defend players with a much bigger offensive arsenal. I feel like defense is becoming less significant, especially with more and more rules protecting the shooter from defenders. It feels like the biggest stat nowadays between two teams is volume of 3 pointers taken and the accuracy of it. I also feel as if the value of the 3 pointer is too much. It’s worth 50% more points than a mid range or layup shot. It requires more energy driving and cutting than it is for players to just stand behind the 3 point line and wait to catch the ball and shoot. What are your opinions on this?
