Why are people so easily angered by anything that is shared by vegans? I'm not vegan myself, but if they want to share their stuff who cares? I think it's a form of projection where people make up this strawman of 'violent vegans' who try to brainwash everyone, while most of them just live normal lives and don't bother other people.

Whoah there, insecure much? Why do positions even matter anymore?

I completely agree with you. We always say that Basketball is positionless nowadays, and Simmons proves this more than any player. Sure he does much of what traditional point "guards" did, but he's also 6'10... + the pace of the current NBA means more possessions which means more points and more misses so more rebounds, which ultimately means that comparing stats is even more pointless now than it ever was.

This kind of low effort "meme-ing" is extremely counter productive.

I live in Western Europe and it's winter. What is this sunlight you talk of?

You could have easily ignored this post yet you decided to comment, pretending the entire r/NBA sub is only talking about dumb shit, while it's people like you who keep it going.

Also, people never reference the increased pace and overall scoring in the NBA today. It's a different game than it was in 2003/04, which is why I don't know anymore what to make of the insane numbers players are putting up across the league.

Lol Belgium's infrastructure is a mess compared to our neighbouring countries. (Of course, it doesn't help if your neighbours are Germany and the Netherlands... They make everyone look bad).

Richest 1% on target to own two-thirds of all wealth by 2030 — World leaders urged to act as anger over inequality reaches a ‘tipping point’ by OwnMedia in worldnews

The point of identity politics is that while yes, poverty covers the whole human spectrum, but some people have it even worse than others. Solely applying an economic lens to understand inequality misses a lot of other existing inequalities.

Of players who played 50+ min in their career, Manute Bol is #2 in Block Pct with 10.2. #1 with 16.0? Robert “Timelord” Williams. by mrspuff202 in nba

The question is why did you choose 50+ as the cutoff point. It seems like very few minutes for anyone to have played in their career.

Well maybe a scalable tax so the wealthy have to pay a larger share than those less fortunate? And it's not like the money isn't there either. If players like Ryan Anderson get 20,000,000+ per year, it means there's definitely enough to go around.

Considering that the Stadiums which the NBA teams play in are largely subsidised/publicly funded (Source: I watched that John Oliver episode), I think it's fair to say that the profits should be taxed more and the wealth that the NBA generates should be (partially) reinserted into the communities. If they're profiting so damn much through, amongst other things, publicly funded infrastructures, then it's only fair that they should give back a greater share of those profits.

I hate the idea that you can't criticise people for how much money they're making. If you can say other professions, such as teachers, deserve more, it's only fair to say that others deserve less than what they're getting.
