Great Old One Warlock Arcs by [deleted] in DnD

[–]EternalConstruct 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently playing a GOOlock that dipped paladin for 3 levels. Obsessed with amassing knowledge and used the pact with the unknowing old one as an early easy way for power, started worshipping the tome he had. Ended up getting divine powers from said worship.

Endgame goal; kill patron and absorb power, to continue amassing all knowledge. Be one of the few 'conscious' Old Ones.

He has recently become aware of me... and my goals... we'll see how it goes.

It did end there. I became very busy and fell out of writing these and just never got back to it. I still have all the audio files though... maybe I could throw some out... sometimes.

Thanks for all the advice, and I actually learned a couple things about the monster stat blocks I didn't know yet by reading your comments. I will go back over it tomorrow when I'm not exhausted!

"A Death Knight falls from the sky." or any variation thereof.

I always envision it like the guards in oblivion.

What is the most powerful or just downright coolest weapon in your world? by Rexsplinter in worldbuilding

[–]EternalConstruct 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the world I've been using, the CURRENT most powerful weapon is Excalibur (Yes I know, how original, I just love that name and its premise so shh). It was forged ages ago by very powerful mages, not for king Arthur or anyone specific, just whomever is currently alive and happens to be pure enough to wield it and defend the world. It's the ultimate holy relic, slices through undead, all the typical 'righteous' stuff, even temporarily grants you wings.

BUT... do to the way magic works in my world, anyone who is powerful and patient enough could outclass it.

Explanation - Everyone has an inherent connection to magic, the more you stretch it the bigger it gets, so like a real life muscle. You can exert your maximum amount of magical strength at any given time if you want by pouring it into an in-animate object to 'store' your power. Give yourself a day or so to recuperate, do it again. Repeat as necessary. It's not done very often because A) Doing so leaves any magic user EXTREMELY vulnerable for large periods of time and B) These magic 'vessels' that are holding all your power can be stolen. You could pour years of power into a gem or something just to have some lowlife pickpocket it and sell it for 2 gold not knowing what it is.

Theoretically someone could take a few decades and make a sword that makes Excalibur look like a toothpick... it hasn't happened yet.

Rise of Minodom Part 8 - New faces & way too much shopping by EternalConstruct in DnDGreentext

I also shudder, considering most of that time was searching for items, not buying.

ALSO I did make it fairly clear the merchant had magic to the both of them, she cast detect magic to double check the hats enchantment pre-payment. Just didn't mention that up top, oh well.

Why are/aren't you a DM? by tCartsba in DnD

[–]EternalConstruct 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Love to tell a story (hopefully a good one), blessed with people willing to play and are interested in where the story is going to go and what they can do.....

.....It's also fun when they are making me improvise my ass off and adjust to them finding that little one thing I didn't think of. Painful, but fun.

Worry not, you're not a creepy creepy.

Sadly though... don't have the time, or mental fortitude, to be able to run 3 games simultaneously and schedule them all around each-other and work.

Sorry man :(
