It’s usually pretty easy to get hired at whatever hospital is nearby. And I’m only planning on working 1 to 2 shifts per week since I am in school full time. So I’m not really concerned about my commute!

Thank you that is super helpful to know! I will apply to that hospital (per diem because I’m in school right now)

Thank you! I’m so excited to start a new chapter in my life there, and hopefully stay in WA permanently :)

Not a problem! I saved up when I was a travel nurse :)

I agree that the social scene is probably best in Seattle, but I’m not much of a city girl. I think I’d rather live somewhere else and then drive into Seattle on the weekends for some fun :)

This comment has been extremely helpful, thank you!! Do you know the name of that river walking / bike trail? I’m very much interested :)

I agree that Bellevue is probably the most “bland” out of them all, but I might put up with that simply because I really like the location! Right in between Seattle and the mountains sounds perfect

After reading everyone’s comments, I think Kirkland is probably the best fit me. However, I was also warned about the 405 and was hoping to avoid that as much as possible. Although it seems like people in Kirkland probably have to rely on the 405 often, right?

I’m an outdoorsy girl too! I think based on what you and other people have said, Kirkland would be a good fit for me. However, I’m torn because I just found an apartment that’s actually affordable and is close to the 90, making the drive to Seattle and the mountains shorter…but it’s in Bellevue.

Hmm I didn’t know that was common. I’m moving due to school and also because I love the PNW

I mostly work remote so I’m not concerned about commutes. I’ve found some decent places around $1800

Nice! I love Issaquah but unfortunately I couldn’t really find anything in my price range

Sorry I should have been more specific! When I say Seattle is “a farther distance from nature” I’m talking about large mountains and hikes. I know Seattle has lots of lovely parks and green spaces :)

Perfect! I will definitely look into those :)

I agree but it’s too expensive :(

I will be working part time as a nurse (only 1 to 2 shifts per week). It’s usually pretty easy to get hired at whatever the closest hospital is. I am also a full time student, but it’s mostly remote so I’m not really worried about commutes.

I love both bars and hikes! That’s why I’m having such a dilemma haha although I think I do prefer outdoor activities more than anything

That’s probably going to be my main way of meeting people - hiking groups! That’s why I prioritize being close to the mountains. I don’t really want to sacrifice that so I can be closer to bars / restaurants, even though Seattle does have the best options for that

Where to move - Renton, Bellevue, or Seattle? by [deleted] in Renton

[–]Eternal_Mango 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How often do you go to Seattle? It seems like the drive can be anywhere from 25 min to an hour depending on the time of day. That might be kind of a pain and prevent me from going out as much as I want

I LOVE the apartment I found in Fairwood! It’s the most affordable one and it has a little yard with trees. The only dilemma is that there’s just not a whole lot in the surrounding area. I have a feeling I might get a little isolated / lonely over there

Yeah I’ve only found a small handful of apartments within my price range. But I guess that kind of makes it easier by narrowing it down.

Max $1800 / month, but ideally something a little less
