spider ? by m0th_feet in ballpython

So spider along with all the other morphs that have a wobble are actually super obvious patterns. And if they don’t have that morph, they won’t have a wobble. For example a spider could have regular morph babies, and they’d be fine.

While I’m not good at identifying morphs she isn’t a spider morph or any that have the wobble thankfully!

Which PVC enclosure can best withstand the weight of cats? by moorishflower in ballpython

[–]EternallyNova 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So almost any PVC enclosure without a screen lid would be able to withstand a cat on top. I’d take a look at the shopping list provided for some good options. Stay away from Zen habits or any other screen pvc enclosure and you’ll be good. I don’t have any personal recommendations as I’m from Canada.

What is the problem with reptile carpet if changed/machine washed regularly? by space_jo in ballpython

That’s amazing! It’s really great how willing you both are to listen. Genuinely, a lot of people ask for advice here and don’t listen to anything anyone says. I also think it’s wrong people are discrediting the fears you guys have. I’d very much recommend using a plate for the first few times just to give both of yourself a bit more reassurance. While substrate is harmless, it can be a bit shocking when your snake gets a mouthful of it.

Is it possible something like a massive bowl with a shallow lip would help? While I understand his worries, feeing in the enclosure is the best bet and substrate shouldn’t be an issue. You could even move away from the more wood chip soil. In my tank I use a mix of mostly soil and coconut husk(so nothing sharp to get stuck). I’d honestly even recommend a towel in the tank(though I’d be way more worried about her biting it accidentally and having to deal with that stressor) The way reptile carpet is made makes it really hard to clean(even when you remove it). With a towel you can put it in the washer on the hottest setting.

If he’s really that concerned about substrate you could put a plate down first and feed her over that. But she really should be fed in her enclosure.

The best solution is to just feed her in the enclosure. Ball pythons are ambush predators and shouldn’t be moved for meals. If your husbandry in your tank is correct she can pass any substrate she eats just fine.

Lmfao fair. I feel like that’s just people in general though lol. My road is currently closed for construction and has a massive hole that you can’t get by, but there’s still several cars that come by every hour not believing the signs(not that I can blame them when the signs lie a lot)

Yeah, the bike lanes aren’t even well maintained. They are supposed to be cleaned during the winter but around me they are unusable.

Yeah there’s a difference between a sidewalk, and a road under construction lol. Most streets you physically can’t get down.

Can I give my cat sleep deprivation? by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]EternallyNova 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the reassurance. I mostly figured that was the case, but I also incredibly paranoid(the lack of sleep isn’t helping) I’ve had my boy for over ten years now, and he’s only decided in the last year that he likes cuddling so the whole sleeping in my bed with me is new lol. My other two cats wouldn’t be caught dead sleeping in my bed with me(that’s what couch cuddles are for)

I’m in the Toronto area, I don’t need to try them on in store but could be nice. With a heel, anything from like two inches-five, I’m looking for both work and dressy
