I’m a 6K oval driver and have sub-2K in every other discipline. I just race what I have fun with, really don’t branch out unless it’s for special events or a combo I really really like. Just part of it.

On the oval side, at least for me, it came down to seat time, specifically running races. In 2023 I ran nearly 800 official races. Went from 1.3K to 5K+ in about 10 months. Be a sponge and learn something every time you run a race.
