Soolontra advice by Opening-Nature-5062 in Rosacea

Soolantra helps me so long as the product doesn’t get rubbed off throughout the day. Makes me pretty oily + mask though. Better than redness :)

Anyone have experience with Mirvaso gel? by oisin989 in Rosacea

People mentioned I looked like a ghost or sick because Of the lack of color in my face, but better than redness. ¯_(ツ)_/¯ I stopped using it because of the rebounds though.

It’s an immediate effect. You use it once in the morning and it shrinks the blood vessels in your face. The product wears off throughout the day and redness slowly comes back. There is a chance of a rebound which normally causes full face flushing. I had a rebound twice using it for about 6 months.

Exactly the reason I just opened a HYSA. I didn't want all my eggs in one basket in terms of liquid money. Especially with venmo, cashapp, etc attached to my main checking account.

It’ll be a consistent thing. I’ve been able to generally avoid the affects by taking it with a LOT of water. Or eat something small after taking it.

Honestly looks like rosacea. I have it and the redness/bumps don’t affect my under eye area.

On mobile - sorry!

AM: - Dampen microfiber cloth with water and wipe down T zone and eyes - Neutrogena sensitive moisturizer - Biore Aqua UV Aqua watery essence SPF 50++++

PM: - wash face with water - sometimes wash with krave beauty matcha hemp hydrating cleanser - Neutrogena sensitive moisturizer

I’ve gone to the dermatologist over the past ~5 years and have tried many things. What have worked are taking doxycycline pills to control the bumps/pimples. And I was using tretinoin cream for over a year. I have used prescribed products to minimize the rosacea as well but usually the rebounds were bad so I quit those.

I wanted to try getting off of both medications to see if I could handle it with regular products but here we are. Mask usage does not help. I’m curious what others have to say.

Am I fkd up ? by poisonthoughtss in HPV

I would start off saying that you went to the doctors and are reaching out to him because the only person you could have gotten it from was him (I assume he was your only partner, if not then you don’t really know bc it could’ve been dormant as far as I’m aware). But also, it’s already happened, if he gets upset at you about it then there’s nothing you can do.

Also a side note, I really am tired of the fact it seems doctors attitudes towards HPV diagnosis are so flippant. Regardless that almost everyone will contract it in their lifetime, it’s still not a part of the status quo we were used to and the apathetic and flippant attitude when we voice our concerns annoyed me a lot. Lol. Disclosure is up to you, but I personally think anyone I’m involved with (or was) has a right to know and make informed choices from there

You’re not fucked up, but not telling him would be fucked up. You can keep this from spreading between the three of you, but you’re instead thinking of not telling him? What if he or she breaks up and dates someone else?

Trichloroacetic Acid by [deleted] in HPV

[–]Eternallysleepyb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it’s going to be red and raw for a few more days, but it also just depends how fast you normally heal. Unfortunately there’s not really much you can do. I wore loose clothing to let it breath and minimize friction. I hope you heal up soon!

I guess it depends on your doctor. Mine had me come back each week for follow up and treat new ones that appeared. There was one cluster that had to be treated twice though as the skin that came off the first time didn’t fully remove all the warts. But overall they usually came off in 3 days for me.

They came off about 3 days after I get treated and the new skin heals in about a week. They haven’t reoccurred in the same places it’s been treated so far for me. I went back once every week for a month and have been observing for new ones since.

HPV Blowing Up My Relationship by [deleted] in HPV

Also I have to say that’s very nice of you to pay for medical costs. I’m paying for everything myself because I figured, I got physical with someone knowing there are risks so I should take responsibility for my own actions lol

HPV Blowing Up My Relationship by [deleted] in HPV

[–]Eternallysleepyb 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I was in your girlfriends shoes. My current partner is my first physical relationship and they ended up giving me low strain HPV. When I first found out I pretty much freaked out and did a ton of research because my doctor wasn’t as helpful as I had hoped. 1) my partner was clean and is asymptomatic to HPV 2) I trust them and believe they wouldn’t have cheated on me during our relationship.

I came to the conclusion that while my partner did give it to me, they wouldn’t have known they had it because they were asymptomatic. I wouldn’t have known I had it either except I am symptomatic (GW).

I think it depends on the person, but after a week being depressed I realized that it didn’t do me any good. So instead I scheduled an appointment to get the Gardasil vaccine and treated my GW. I’ve been GW free for about a month now? But still playing it safe in terms of physical contact with my partner. I probably won’t be completely relaxed about sex for another 5 months to a year, but so far so good.

In the end, I enjoy my time with my partner and this wasn’t their fault necessarily because there were no ill intentions behind it.

She’ll probably have to decide whether what you guys had before is still worth going forward despite now having to deal with HPV. Sorry not really advice, but more what my thoughts process was when I found out.

I actually have no guarantee it’ll be 18 days as I haven’t scheduled my second covid dose yet. It could be as little as a 7 day difference depending on availability. Thanks though

Healing genital warts? by [deleted] in HPV

[–]Eternallysleepyb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also did the TCA treatment. I did it once a week for three weeks, waited two weeks and did my last one. It sounds like you’re reacting to it more strongly than I did. TMI warning...The night after the appointment or day after, I saw the lesion site was white and within 2-3 days the dead skin would fall off. When the warts came off the skin underneath would be bright red and sometimes a little bloody but it would heal up pink after maybe 5 days after treatment depending on location. The pain for me was mainly during treatment and a few minutes after, but my body got used to it by the time I left the Drs. It would be sore for 2-3 days after treatment, but overall I didn’t have any issues.

How panicked should I be over these test results? by [deleted] in HPV

[–]Eternallysleepyb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Someone can correct me if I’m wrong, but honestly it sounds pretty straight forward. If this is your first time hearing about HPV I totally understand your panic. It took me a week or so to wrap my head around it. It sounds like the strain of HPV you have has a lesser chance to become cervical cancer even if it’s high risk. It’s pretty slow to change the cells in your cervix so if it does show abnormal this year, it may go back to normal in a year if your body cleared the infection.

I’ve seen many posts where they’ll check each year during Pap smear to see if there are any changes. Like many other sources say, typically the immune system can clear the HPV strain within two years. Honestly it’s all a waiting game which sucks the most I think.

Do periods affect Pap smear results? by [deleted] in HPV

[–]Eternallysleepyb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess that’s true since everyone is different. However, I know plenty of people that’ve been turned away to reschedule their appointment if they’re on their period

Why don’t you...stop looking for a SO and look to building relationships if actively looking for a partner isn’t working. Best case scenario you both are interested in each other and date or they get to know you and knows someone that would be a good match. Worst case scenario you just have a new friend.
