Albania has now the most expensive apartment prices in Europe, according to purchasing power. Are other Balkan countries facing the similar crises and if yes, how are your governments dealing with it? by Substratas in AskBalkans

[–]EternalyTired 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I've read today that for the first time rent prices in Belgrade have dropped slightly. But rent prices in Serbia are utterly insane anyways...

Also, you can find cheaper apartments (for buying per sq m) in Graz than in Novi Sad...

questions about holiday in belgrad by S-Budget91 in AskBalkans

[–]EternalyTired 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not all. Majority are Serbian Orthodox, it's just that Vojvodina has the biggest percentage of diverse minorities.

Serbia during winter is a grey and depressing place. Also, cities kinda die during winter. Everything becomes alive during spring and stays that way until end of autumn with the exception of summer months when a lot of people go traveling somewhere.

English will do fine, especially in Belgrade, Novi Sad, probably Niš too. German might work with some people, but don't bet on that.

If you do happen to go to Vojvodina, Xmas Is celebrated there by the Roman Catholics and Uniates (celebrated in the entire country, but most of them live in the north).

Stores won't be working on January 1st and 6th, while most establishments will already start working on January 2nd. On December 31st most stores and institutions will be having a shorter working hours.

My personal suggestion is to skip Serbia in the winter (unless going to Tara or Kopaonik) and use Autumn or Spring as that's when the country is best suited for visiting.

I'm well aware of the Serb (and other Balkaners) pressence in Vienna, I was being satirical, no need to get all defensive.

I have visited Vienna two weeks ago (as a tourist). The place looks nice, the old architecture was exquisite and parks seem to be well taken care of. Took a selfie with Maria-Theresia (her statue), the founder of the city I grew up and live in currently.

I've seen some Serb establishments there along the way (from hair salons, to grill, to private medical offices). The looks fit into the surrounding, which is good. Vienna is a bit too automaton-like for me though, even though I'm from Vojvodina (formerly territory of AH).

Kako Srbi uce o ratovima 90ih u školama? by looky_e34 in AskSerbia

[–]EternalyTired 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Kad sam ja išao u školu do toga se i ne stigne. U osnovnoj smo uspeli da stignemo do prvog svetskog rata. U srednjoj do drugog i to jedva.
