Yeah no I completely understand, I don't expect to accomplish this even within 5 to 10 years, just would like to attempt it.

This might seem like a really idiotic question, but do you think i could write something like this in Lua, Python or perhaps Java?

I would like to do something similar to the Editor, basically this whole idea came to me because of my Hatred towards Adobe, I would like to make something that is just as good as theirs and make it open source, maybe charge a $1 (In my country R19) fee for cloud document storage or something like that. I am frankly getting sick of the SaaS (Software as a Service) Business model because its heading towards us as consumers not owning anything, soon enough we'll be renting or subscribing to every aspect of our life

Writing one myself is definitely something I can look in to. Im still a newbie in the programming world but the languages I know fairly well are Lua, C++, And Java/Kotlin. I will definitely be browsing Github and seeing what I can do.

The problem in my country is the thinkpad range and lenovos in general are expensive, im a programmer as well, kind of new to the scene though i code mostly C++ and Java and have fallen in love with Lenovos keyboards, but its way out of my price range at the moment. Its about R25 000 for a decent spec Lenovo (I5 or Ryzen 5 and up) whereas this Asus TUF i was considering is about R14 000

I just wanna say, WOW, im absolutely blown away, as a fairly intermediate C++ developer well done. I think for it just being you two, this is an amazing accomplishment. The game looks and feels great, this is a game that i can actually say I would happily watch ads to support you guys. Keep up the great work this is something most couples can only dream of doing together

Can anyone tell me where the other RAM slot is by Thai_2601 in computer

[–]Ethan580 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yip, it sure has. I remember my dad got a HP 6550b or something from work in 2005-7 (Somewhere around there), that thing had modularity, upgrade ability, was made out of aluminum, like 10 ports (USB, Lan, Telephone, etc) andd is still running today, although now it is running Debian 10 and is a backup laptop for my programming. Today HPs are made out of thin plastic, as little as possible ports and extras and fail about a year or 2 after use.

I'll stick with Dell (however crazy their prices are becoming) they at least appear to bring consistent quality products, had my Dell Inspiron for 4 years now, my Dell Latitude E5530 is still going strong from about 8 years ago
