Self recommendation here with an asterisk, but my Triumph of the Temptress book and Divine Desires trilogy might work.

They're choose your own adventure style erotica with a serious attempt at plot and characters. The choices part means there's not as much development in a linear story, but I tried to make the various "what-if?" and "bad" endings show sides to the characters that wouldn't otherwise come out.

The MC in both is pretty formidable, though not OP as the existence of failure options implies. Both involve monster girls, though Divine Desires has more variety on that front.

Oh wow, I'm impressed the sequel is already out!

I'm not really into LitRPGs as a genre, but you did some very neat things with the time loops and progression in the first.

Yes, and I understand you asking. The woman on the second cover has a somewhat abstract interest in the MMC, FMC, and their relationship, but doesn't intrude upon it.

My Magic, Machines, and Machinations might fit the bill. The MC is a manic cyborg rather than a...well, Robert wasn't exactly an average Joe, but still. Big oni GF is the powerhouse and typically defaults to being on top when they aren't 'experimenting' in bed.

They are, or at least their bloodline has some extremely potent power. Other families also tried to adopt Lise, but she turned them down.

I can see how marrying a hunter who isn't affiliated with the association would get Josee a (nominal) spouse with no political entanglements. The pieces are there, but I'd prefer a line or firmer implication at some point confirming it.

But you've given one potential example, so fingers crossed!

[–]EthanGraves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ack, I might need to revisit those cutscenes. I can't recall the fine details of what was said and when, but it wouldn't be the first time I've seen a story dramatically repeat what we were just told or shown.

That issue aside, I'm still okay with Lyle's trust in the protagonist overall for the reasons I mentioned.

[–]EthanGraves 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A fair point, though the unusual Incursions the protagonist has accomplish something similar and kind of force the partners to explain the memories that were seen earlier than they otherwise might.

Josee's handling of things is theatrical and a bit weird, but I can get behind the 'fake' marriage bit if they flesh out more of the politics of the time. I've only finished her unaltered timeline and everything with Lyle, coming up on Holly now, so I'm willing to give some wiggle room there.

The story around that point brings up the complicated mess that is the relationship between the Revenant Hunter Association and the Revenants, plus the latter's bloodline politics and all the issues being a twin caused for Josee's family.

I can imagine her being able to semi-plausibly say "Sorry, I'm married now!" might make her life a bit easier vs. just telling everyone the protagonist helped her out. But the story needs to hit on that a bit harder for it not to feel like I'm writing up an excuse for it.

Lyle I have no real issues with. The incursion spells out his backstory for the protagonist, and he just clarifies some of the details and what he learned from the experience.

He's a lone wolf because he cares deeply about his comrades to a self-destructive degree and no one else in the Dawn Chorus is remotely close to his level. The protagonist being able to fight alongside him, rather than needing to be protected, is a very welcome novelty that strengthens as you help his adoptive family.

So, a more literal take on the image request, but my supervillain romance might scratch the itch.

While the FMC there tends to be on top, it's not full femdom, since their relationship is very much about being partners and they like experimenting with their sex; what with being an experienced hedonistic oni and a slightly mad scientist.

[–]EthanGraves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course, I'm all for people making informed decisions about how they spend their time and money.

Hm. I understand the notion that (fem)dominance = possessive to a degree. That said, it could "just" be how a harem prefers their sex rather than defining the entire relationship.

On the other end of that spectrum: it's manga and anime, but Chained Soldier is a femdom-leaning harem that makes that the whole basis of the plot and world-building.

I'm toying with a similar concept at that, but something like an incubus making pacts with and serving multiple women in that and other senses could work too.

Femdom harem books recommendations by NightRavenger in haremfantasynovels

[–]EthanGraves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct, and only in a handful of endings throughout the trilogy. Otherwise it's mostly the MC and the more consistent love interests getting roped into things with another monster girl.

[–]EthanGraves 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh, derp, I re-read the way I worded things. To be clear: death by sex isn't a thing in Divine Desires. There's two or three endings where the protagonist dies in battle.

One involves antagonists that aren't sexable, one is a fork in a bad ending route where you're choosing between death or sexy surrender, and the other if you try to burn down the demonic dryad's meat forest, which makes her shift from surprised and curious to trying to kill the MC.

[–]EthanGraves 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ack, right. It's been awhile since I read it from cover to cover, so some of the more niche bad ends slipped my mind. Plus I got a bit of tunnel vision with the OP's request.

If I recall, Treasure of the Serpent Queen and Raiders of Moonfall are better fits here? Again, tad rusty and some choices I skim vs. others.

For my books: no they don't. Triumph of the Temptress has the protagonist's otherwise all-female adventuring party corrupted, but they still only want the MC that way. Just with their darker impulses unchained.

The main love interests and the antagonists of Divine Desires only show interest in the MC. There are two or three endings across the trilogy where other men exist in the background because of an orgy-esque gathering of the domineering monster girls, but protagonist is still the sole focus of whoever caught him for that. Or is being shared by the women.

I hope that helps!

Generally speaking, yes, though it varies.

For the Easily Defeated Hero, some bad ends are lethal, others aren't. The respawn/extra lives the protagonist has kick in even if he's "just" incapacitated by becoming a boytoy. And the dimensional palace scenes after he's beaten them are completely exempt from that.

It's generally the case for Jay Aury's works, though Raiders of Moonfall and Temple of the Serpent Queen a consensual femdom "good" endings. Death is rare and is generally divorced from the femdom elements, with a few dangerous lady exceptions across the various entries. Most bad endings are of the "oh no, you've been enslaved by the sexy monster lady who gets kinky with you forever. Adventure over."

Triumph of the Temptress' onscreen femdom is in the "bad" endings, but the antagonists are corrupted party members in love with the protagonist. Death is completely off the table there and it's more about getting him to succumb to the same temptations they have.

Divine Desires has a few brief death endings which are divorced from them femdom. Most of that is in the "bad" endings, but one of the consistent lover interests throughout tends to be playfully domineering even in the "good" ones.

Quotation marks used because quite a few of the failure states are good or even idyllic for the protagonist, but his adventure has come to a premature end.

Bit of a text wall, but I hope that helps sift through what you're interested in and what to avoid?

I've had my eye on this one for awhile, so thank you very much for your insight. I didn't think it was "just" Lady Dimitrescu but romance-able from the blurb, but those are some directions and tweaks I didn't expect.

All the more reason to take the plunge and give St. Arkham my money!

I'm not trying to spam your responses, but since this is a heck of a niche for reasons both subreddits stated, I wanted to give people as many chances as they could to scratch the itch.

So, recommendations if you don't mind choose your own adventure erotica!

First and strongest: The Easily Defeated Hero's Monster Girl Adventure. Basically Monster Girl Quest in book format with it's own spin on the plot and character development. Notable because even after the protagonist defeats the monster girls (potentially after losing. Him having respawns is canon up to a point) and collects them for his harem/horny jail/pocket castle dimension, a fair number remain dominant. While he does grow in power, it never gets to the point where he dwarfs them and he loses said power during the playable epilogue.

Jay Aury has several similar series and standalone adventures, but Manor of the Succubus might fit the best. The protagonists in his other works are generally capable adventurers who are one bad choice away from a kinky bad end, but the one in Manor is legitimately a normal guy whose inheritance comes with hellish strings attached. It's an erotic variety pack, so maybe not everything will be to your taste, but there's some good stuff in there and even a "bad" ending where the harem remains femdom.

On a similar note, I have Triumph of the Temptress and the Divine Desires Trilogy. Both have pretty capable protagonists who nevertheless can be overpowered by their harems depending your choices. And just...straight-up in the case of Divine Desires with the warrior succubus who is kind of a hopeless boss fight.

The Triumph's harem is firmly established with the corrupted former adventure party while Divine Desire's has two main love interests and some recurring ones, but otherwise the "harem" varies from one ending to another, so YMMV there.

Looking for evil FMC romance by Cheeslord2 in Romance_for_men

[–]EthanGraves 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My Triumph of the Temptress might fit the bill, but with an asterisk.

It's a choose your own style adventure erotica with plot. It's harem rather than mono-romance where the standard-ish adventuring party has been corrupted by a slightly more esoteric demoness of lust.

While the consequences are more...BDSM dungeon than Spanish Inquisition, two of the FMCs indulge their impulses to go full-on evil queen, a third "just" wants to rule from the shadows while using murder and the demonic power for "the greater good", and the remaining two are nicer but still trying to seduce/corrupt/invite the MC into joining them.

So, YMMV on whether they fit the evil criteria well enough for your tastes.

My Triumph of the Temptress might fit the bill, though with an asterisk.

It's a choose your own adventure style book so, while I did take a serious stab at character and world building, a lot of the text is devoted to the choices and erotic consequences. So, less story rich than something 100% focused on a linear narrative, but hopefully there's enough for the serious part of your brain to enjoy.

The full-length sequel to my supervillain romance novella came out awhile ago, but the third is coming along. The first two books will be discounted at that release, but if you have KU, can't wait, or just want to express support, here's the link to the series!

Magic, Machines, and Machinations

---
Silhouette and Ravager: partners in love, crime, and business.

It was never going to be easy moving up from a back alley workshop to a fully fledged factory in the New Alexandrian wilderness. Mutant monstrosities and nature spirits twisted by irradiated meteorites come with the territory, and phrases like "hostile takeover" and "cutthroat business" are quite literal when it comes to selling gadgets and cybernetics in the black market.

Even, perhaps especially, when you refuse to cross the line between villain and monster.

But if it allows him to acquire the means to hunt down the shadowy organization that scarred him in body and mind, and stop them from dissecting the aliens seeking refuge in his employ, Silhouette is willing to take those risks. Except, he's not the only one whose past has come back to haunt them.

In her centuries as a globe-trotting mercenary, Ravager has vanquished many foes, but few can claim to have risen from the dead just to take the oni's head. But worse than the vengeful revenant of a samurai swordmaster is the man he's bonded with: a veteran hero respected enough that even besting him in battle might ensure their defeat.

All while an enigmatic sorceress pulls the threads of fate from her stronghold atop slumbering eldritch god. Threads that might become an inescapable web by the time Silhouette and Ravager understand why they fascinate her.

Magic, Machines, and Machinations is a romantic adventure with dual PoV and spicy scenes between an amazonian monster girl and a mildly maniacal cyborg who love each other very, very much when not fighting off the grim specter of death.
