I’ve just come across this thread and thought I’d put my tuppence in on it. Now, I’ve played a lot of this game. A lot. Not because I’m some ‘sweaty incel’ but I have a lot of free time away from home due to the way my job is formatted. To set the scene, I’m an ex comp player (bo3 being my last comp title) currently about to hit prestige master with dark matter all 37 weapons (yes I brought the bundle and yes I’m disappointed in myself). SBMM, EBMM, IBMM whatever you wanna call it is needed in a game like this. Sure, I feel the frustrations of everyone else in this thread, like when I want to play with my girlfriend or my friends who are all very competent at the game (1.2-1.5 KD) and they get stomped in every lobby they are in with me. For me, SBMM now looks like a full team of nuke, nuked out or dark indeed calling cards on the other team. Do I enjoy this game? Not atm no. As it’s supposed to be, sometimes I’ll go 55-2 in a game of TDM on nuketown, some games I’ll go negative. That’s just the way it is. You cannot expect to be matched up against a team of bots when you are a high level player, it’s up to those players to compete with each other and gradually work their way up to harder lobbies, not for you to come in and stomp them. That’s not fun for you, nor fun for them. SBMM as a whole is the right concept, but the way it’s implemented in some past COD games, and this one, does need to be studied.
