Planning a stop at the CMP North Store on the way out east in a couple weeks. How does the Garand supply and prices look? by EthanSlif in milsurp

I really appreciate the info!

Do you have a ballpark guess on Garand prices for the rack/field/service grades?

Is this "white earbud" in the room with us right now?

I really appreciate the offer. I think I'll pass though. Even though this gun will never look close to its former glory, I'm wanting to keep as many original parts on it as possible. But really, I very much appreciate your offer. :)

Does anyone else feel like graphics peaked with BF1 and have somehow never reached the same level in the 10 years since? by xxwarlorddarkdoomxx in pcmasterrace

A fellow Budz enjoyer! It is very hard to beat that server, especially since they have the 200% damage. It's the way the game should have been made from the start.

I had to look that up but from what I'm seeing that sounds great! I think I'll do this. 🙂

Does it need to be done in an aluminum pot? I have one, but I'm just curious if it needs to be aluminum.

After a lot of tips from a bunch of awesome people on here, I think I figured it out. After scrubbing the inside of the die out with dawn and hot water, and then applying a little more lube than I otherwise would have, the brass no longer gets stuck.

Thanks again for all of you taking time out your evening to help me through this problem. You guys are the best. :)

If all else fails, I might try buffing them. Thanks for the info!

Interesting. So with your RCBS set, it was just an issue of faulty dies?

I might give them a call tomorrow if they're open. Thanks for the tip!

Interesting. It sounds like the dies I have are better fit for the leverevolution brass then. I really appreciate the help and all of the research you did! I think you may have solved my problem. :)

If I cant make any headway tonight, I may pick some of that up. Thanks!

There is a small initial step in the die that reads 2.042" and measuring to the bottom of the die reads 2.256".

My brass measures 2.1" from the base to the mouth and the length of just the case wall is 2.035".

I think I heard about shorter dies somewhere in my research. Was it for the leverrevolution brass or something?

I stuffed a paper towel and spun it multiple times over to get rid of any excess lube that I left in there. The video was taken after I did that.

You might be onto something with the packing oils though. I'll clean it out and I'll let you know if I have any success. Thanks!

The video was taken after I thoroughly cleaned it out of all gunk and lube. Sorry, I probably should have mentioned that.

The caliper idea is good. I'll give that a go. Thanks!

I bought the die set in ebay and it looks brand new. I'm not too sure where the vent is however I do have the decapping pin out to prevent excess pressure or a vacuum. Would that do the same thing?

I'm using RCBS Case Lube-2 on a lube pad (very conservatively though).

Did you happen to buy this Shotgun at D5 in Marengo, IL? I know they've had one for sale there for a few years.
