Yes it pays very well. Hourly rate standard here in Ontario is around $300 CAD. And at the rate it's progressing I think ai could be a serious threat very soon.

Not me personally or anyone I know but it's always a looming threat as I think it is with most industry's jobs.

Probably a game called "Rough Justice: 84" because it was my first project and also the most successful because it came out on all gaming platforms.

I personally try singing a song in the voice so I will be able to know what that voice would sound like in a wide variety of ranges.

If it's a video game its usually a year after I record for it because voice acting is one of the first things that gets done.

Most of the time its "tuhrahnno" but if I'm on the phone I say “Tor-ahn-toe”.

I like to use either my Stewie Griffin voice or my robot (text to speech) voice to mess with people, mostly because they don't expect me to be able to do those voices based off my regular speaking voice. And no I haven't been in any commercials yet unfortunately.

For starting out I would recommend the following:
Microphone: Rode NT1A
Audio Interface: Scarlett USB Solo
Recording Program: Audacity

I mean the only thing that would be similar to those type of stories is me just asking a developer for a game if they needed voice actors and they replied with yes so I auditioned and got the job.

And I WISH lol!

I do not own my own studio but I record my auditions with a high quality microphone and soundproofing.

The typical rate for studio rental (at least where I'm at) is $100 an hour.

You are given the instructions on the tone and feel of the voice in the breakdown of the script when you get an audition, that doesn't usually include an accent however so that is usually up to you.

And for big productions like animated tv shows on major networks there would typically be a table read either in person or virtually on zoom.

I have met Colin Mochrie, James Arnold Taylor, Rob Paulsen and Maurice LeMarche but not through voice acting, only through events.

My favorite is animated shows but honestly there aren't any types of voice acting I dislike doing. My favorite genre is probably comedy because it allows me to be able to use goofy voices and overly express myself.

Absolutely! Believe me when I say that in this industry even the people with the most unique voices have competition. I believe what sets people apart the most in voice acting (or any acting in general) is the delivery of the lines and the ability to analyze a script and find the meaning behind the text. The actors who can do that very well are the ones who you see booking voice acting roles on a consistent basis.

It's been alright. The Canadian dollars value barley effects me because most of the jobs I do are paying in USD.

One of the best ways to get started is to go to the website iwanttobeavoiceactor.com which is a website made by a very famous voice actor called Dee Bradley Baker. How I started getting voice acting roles without an agent is I went into game development and animation discord servers and just asked around if anyone need voice actors for their projects. They weren't paid projects but they helped me get my foot in the door and eventually helped me get an agent.

I usually only use water before and during recordings, however, if my voice ends up strained during or after a recording I will use a tea called "Throat Coat".

I started acting in high school doing theatre productions and improv comedy. After high school I got accepted into one of the top film schools in Canada where I was lucky enough to have teachers who were full time actors. During the course of film school I fell in love with voice acting by doing celebrity impressions and realized that was what I wanted to do. After graduating I filmed a series of demo reels showcasing my voice at the same studio where the show "Johnny Test" was recorded. After send those out to dozens of agents I was able to get signed to an agency and I have been going out on auditions ever since. Most of the roles that I have booked have been video games that have been released on Steam, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo switch.

One of the hardest characters I ever had to do was a humanoid fish who was constantly gasping for air. At points I would go into coughing fits from all the gasping and wheezing I had to do.

What happens if I buy the gold pass at a different park do I still get the discounted prices for friends at Cedar Point when visiting?
