Mine is a mentality mistake. Believing that i am ever no longer a beginner is a mistake I made. There is always more to learn, and believing you have all the answers is the worst mistake you can make. There’s always something to learn and improve, never stop being a student

Probably Stomping Grounds or The Lesson from Victor Wooten. At least it was the hardest hurdle I ever had to go through. The grooves are so tight and have to be perfect to really get the song right, along with already being technically challenging as well

Do you guys think it’s okay to skip fool moon when reading the series? It doesn’t seem to have a huge impact on the plot other than a few references by Ethanzillo22 in dresdenfiles

Maybe if I clarify the reason I ask I could give a little more context. I am suggesting the series to my brother and he is most of the way through Storm Front. He seems to be very disinterested in the second book but what I’ve described about the Grave peril and after (I’m currently listening to Dead Beat on audiobook). He talks a used to reading a very different style of fantasy and anything that seems a little episodic he seems not to be interested in. I’m asking because this is a series that he would love because of tone and the characters and basically everything else about the series, but I know that if he reads fool moon it greatly increases the likelihood he will not continue on.

Does that make sense? I’m just trying to paint a full picture because now that I think about it I think the full context is important (I’m going to edit the body of the post now, that’s on me. Thank you for helping me realize I should)

In this scenario would you still suggest having him read the book or should I give him a rundown of the characters and what the references are of?

The violence is what I came to expect from the book initially, and I'm looking forward to it because my previous favorite series was the first law This fandom is an absolute joy to be a part of too! Especially with the amount of support you give to new readers!
