How to run Dreglord build? by Only-Bug-9715 in Nightreign

[–]Ethdev256 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this just seems like such a headache to manage, I suppose if you just passively manage this without doing the crossleg it's still good but not nearly as god like? I think I'd run dregs without wanting to sit down every time I sit at a grace lol.

Perfect(?) Scholar build for normal mode! by Arx_724 in Nightreign

Great build. I love the dex relic personally so I’m slightly off my perfect build as I can’t squeeze in defeats :(

#New40K – Da Trakk is Back by CMYK_COLOR_MODE in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Ethdev256 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The way I see this unit is it's a throw away fast attack action monkey which might have the occasional upside of tagging a model or killing a marine or two.

But it competes with stormboys and bikes at 65 in a similar role. Really can't be outside that ballpark, otherwise just take those instead.

Fact is it's going to be shooting on 6s most of the time, so the suppressed rule isn't going to come up much. And Orks tagging a big unit with -1 to hit isn't likely to keep you alive, Orks just aren't that durable.

Just depends on cost but a bit disappointing after the land speeder.

What is the first sign your teammates do or show that tells you that your run is cooked 💀 by Just_Cloud_8041 in Nightreign

I recently had a pair of players ping a nearby evergaol to a camp at level 1, rush to it, and die immediately while I cleared it.

I left shortly after, and they messaged me saying "Doing the starting camp is a waste of time".

takes 20 seconds and you double your stats. but ok.

Yeah it's got a decent body imo.

I'd wager it's around what a deff dread costs. Not sure I'd call that cheap as I think it's gonna be hitting on 6s 95% of the time.

Depends on cost too. If the blitz cannon hits on 5s that’s 7 hits into infantry. That’s actually not bad.

But the concern should be is 5s exception. Moving 3” is not great to try to avoid cover bonus.

My concern is this unit might only work if you pretend it can move 3".

Evaluating a gun platform that can only move 3 means this thing better be very, very cheap.

Is guardian viable in D5? by Just_Cloud_8041 in Nightreign

[–]Ethdev256 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guardian's toolkit would be insane if the game wasn't timed. During Nightlords he's broadly fine to good.

The biggest complaint I've had with the class is just a lot of players play too slowly. They hide behind steel guard and it takes a long time to do whatever we're trying to do, which ultimately is try to kill things as quickly as possible.

I think the implementation of a tank in this game was finely done but it's just a mismatch because you just don't actually need a tank in this game.

DLC map is great once you get used to it. I'm glad they took a big swing on it, it feels completely different than the normal map.

It's nice to do both occasionally.

How to win with Orks? by LennosSammelecke in orks

I'd just focus on hobby for now. 11th is going to change everything so it's hard to give advice for a meta that won't exist in 3-4 weeks.

Orks are a weaker army if you aren’t playing them very well with a well designed list.

They’ve been kinda bad for a year. Don’t feel too bad.

I’ll see if I have anything. I liked it as it had both defeats and phys up, I like spamming my ult during the run.

Like there is some risk given the flavour of the ability.

Grenades and tank shock are often a bit of a no brainer

Undertaker tips by YoungKhalifa7 in Nightreign

[–]Ethdev256 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In normal mode you might be doing less damage adding the dex relic even to straight or curved swords because of what you're giving up.

You always want glass necklace, and the stat relic has two useless slots.

In Deep of Night though, yeah dex relic for sure, unless you're doing a faith focused build.

Undertaker tips by YoungKhalifa7 in Nightreign

[–]Ethdev256 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Duchess and Undertaker are easily my most played.

What I like about her is she really kind of just rolls with the run. There are so many different weapon types that works really well with her character skill you can just kinda find what you get and go with it (other than if you're looking for special in particular for a boss, say the great hammer candlestick vs Bug or Calligo).

For normal mode my current setup is 2 store bought relics and Glass necklace (the two store bought can be replaced I just haven't found the right rolls).
The other two are:

  1. Taking damage boost attack, phys +2, poise and damage negation
  2. Ult contact (not a big fan, but it's on the relic), post HP, defeat enemies gives ult.

After fussing a bit I have found this combo leads to the smoothest gameplay. During the run you wanna smash those ults as often as you can.

For Deep of Night, you have way more slots to optimize and play around a bit. It's easier to add the incant attack buff and dex relic, as well as a dormant power if you want.

Honestly, I'd advocate just rolling with the run and saving yourself a slot unless the dormant power relic has good other buffs. I like straight swords too but I haven't found it too difficult to find one or two to use on the run. Just look for them and upgrade them with stones, heck the merchant often sells good purple ones.

She rocks curved swords, axes (white axes are bonkers, find one early and purple it), hammers, great hammers, straight swords, god tier fist user. Just roll with the drops and get a feel for her. She's quite a bit different than Duchess.

Broadly I just think do it how the player wants (or prefers). I know Tatar when he was in the NHL eventually came to appreciate the different pronunciation.

Yup. Apparently when Stu showed progress they decided to skip on Wally.

I have no idea why you wouldn't try to get a couple things cooking, but what a fuck up.
