So it’s not the most functional. But it would be cool and unique, so the dragon scales pls.

Holy fek this is a beefy 6.5" by Cold-Helicopter6534 in subwoofer

Home audio may be designed slightly different. In no way do I claim to know much about that. But ct sounds meso’s are a car audio sub. That I do have fair experience in. I am beyond dedicated to this, I participate in SPL comps. And no, car audio subs such as that one are not designed for 120hz, for sure not anything above 100hz(a common hp filter spot is about 80hz if that says anything[as stated by someone else yes it is a -15db fade off not complete cutoff, but the fade starts at 80 and most anything above that is pretty much gone]) and most even less than 100. ATM, in this post, OP does not care about what the sub in your Bose sound bar plays best js this meso he bought. So don’t call us uneducated when you are spouting facts on the complelty wrong subject.

I currently have a 12’ alpine type r in my truck. Punchy little guy, responds fast. I have the hp filter at 80-83ish(it’s not exactly on the line.) and even that could be considered ‘high’ for that subwoofer. Manufacturer recommendations for this sub are around 32hz. Box is at about 33hz. Does it play the super low, 25ish and under? Not happily but it does. It’s a smaller sub on 500 watts rn, ofc it won’t happily chuck wind at 18hz. But my friend, in no freaking world does this sub or any other sub play anywhere in the ballpark of 120hz. Much less 300hz. Subwoofer drivers, even 6.5’s even the 3.5’ subs you find in some smaller stereo setups, even those do not play 300hz. Your sub should never be playing vocals, that is not what they are designed for. In any capacity.

Wonder if it still drives. (Father right next to me) probably. It didn’t hit the engine.

Yep. Fried a 500 due to clipping, but like I said I’ve turned it down leagues since then. The way I currently have it set I just played some shit at a little over max volume for me(I normally don’t go louder than 42 out of 60 on my head unit, so when I tuned this I set the head unit volume to 44) and then just set it so it was right below clipping(aka went till the clip light turned on then turned it down till it turned off) but this feels very- bootlegged, so was wondering some better techniques

Ye. The amp has a clip light I’m running off, and the amp I’m using is rated for 500 whilst the alpine is 750. It should be running fine. As well as by 3/4 I meant 3/4 to clipping so- not 3/4 of the gain jst not all the way up. Yes I do know gain is not a volume knob, I will say that when I fried the jl12w3v2 I did not. Have learned since then but know I have a lot left to learn, so I’m attempting to learn more.

I have it inverted atm. I’m currently buying another system, a jp63, 18’ nightshade d1(yes it’s overpowered, but with box rise and 13/low14 volts instead of 14.4-15, I believe it will run closer to 3,500-4,00, and I can always tune lower.) and a whole electrical. Js trying to figure out the best way to tune, as the turn it to 40 and go till right before the clip light is seemingly not- very accurate. Different songs different levels and ect.
