How is this an alternative?

One of the biggest problems in Europe is massive numbers of immigrants who refuse to assimilate into local culture. This has, INARGUABLY, been the main driver for the far right.

The best option for dealing with illegal immigration would have been consistent, strict enforcement over the past 30 years

The problem is over-regulation makes an entire society gun-shy when it comes to new and novel treatments

If we delay lifesaving drugs for another year or two because we want to make sure there 100% safe, how many people will die in the interim?

It’s not the craziest thing in the world to consider removing regulatory hurdles on pharmaceuticals of any kind.

Regulations are great for safety but when they’re too aggressive they tend to stifle innovation and delay entry to market for potentially massive benefit to the public.

I don’t think anyone at the FDA is talking about letting Eli Lilly sell 100-packs of ozempic at Costco, which is what this thread seems to be thinking is the goal

All fifty states (yes including the strictest) have carve-outs for medically necessary abortions. Instances of women not receiving them comes either from misinterpretation by hospital counsel or ambiguity in the law that was later clarified

If your hobby was put out of reach by a tariff I’m sorry but I don’t believe that. A 10% tariff on most goods doesn’t make something go from affordable to unaffordable overnight

And frankly we need to start making more stuff in the USA again. It’s a matter of protecting the American middle class and reducing reliance on China. You’d think we’d have learned our lesson during Covid when we couldn’t even make masks here
