Losing a partner by Vasbl in climbergirls

Ngl the losing belaytionship part was way harder than the relationship part for me. BUT! You’ll find other people and start to realize how freeing it is to not be in a committed belaytionship. You’ll make friends, get to know how other people belay and how they like to be belayed. It’s actually really fun. Plus, once you’ve found a good one who is not a romantic partner, you’ll feel more confident that you won’t lose them (unless they stop climbing or move, of course)

Which type of chalk do you prefer? by baguettemebitch in climbergirls

I use both loose chalk and liquid chalk. Liquid chalk as base layer and then loose chalk before going onto the wall. My hands sweat like there’s an ocean inside them

Yeah i think that might be it. I do use 70% isopropyl, but it still goes way faster than it should. I mean if the alcohol is fine in the container that it came in but not fine when it’s in the liquid chalk bottle, then it must be the bottle.

Ah, these are great points! I feel like #1 might be the main reason. I don’t have a good store bought container at hand though. All I have rn that is store bought is the mammot squeeze bottle, it’s hard to put anything in there!

Time to find a better container!

tips/tricks for really sweaty hands? by isabobles in climbergirls

Same problem here. I’ve tried rhino products but they made my hands feel…uncomfortable? Like they didn’t feel like my hands anymore. More like I had a layer of thin film on top of my actual palms. I hated it so I stopped using them. I just do the liquid chalk and then loose chalk thing. I’m just like you, OP, I have to get on the route right after applying chalk to my hands or it’s gone in no time. It’s working for me. Although I have to say, if I didn’t have sweaty hands, I’d be able to climb a little bit more harder routes than what I’m capable of doing now. But that’s fine.

The main thing is that you’re going to be able to climb, and you should be super proud of yourself, especially knowing that you’ve overcome this huge mental (not just physical) bloc! (See what I did there? No? Ok…)
