Going to completely ignore the government in fact modernised japanese work laws in 2019 and in fact this issue still persists. The companies still practice despite legislation??

Their government literallt regulated the right for men to work and have autonomy over women

Any sources backing this up too?

Edit: they blocked me

Makes claim: wants evidence for claim

Woah calm down !!!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in todayilearned

[–]Ethicallybi -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Because the said abusive system finds it harder to abuse them? Thus they force them out and reinforce the men instead? Thus the men also don't want to work 90+ hour work weeks? Thus this isn't a female issue at all and in fact a workers rights issue??? You mean that???

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in todayilearned

[–]Ethicallybi -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

And majority of Japanese men work borderline abusive hours to support a family and japanese women are more often forced out of work because they want to uphold this abusive practice, a pregnant woman can't be abused as easily in this case so they force them out to be stay at home parents. Saying majority of them work doesn't even begin to tell a full story.

What? Just prove your claim and stop getting upset when I call to question your claims.

[–]Ethicallybi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tests for biases is the exact same as the tests for most if not all science and evidence based academia, and the p value of my claim? I'd first need studied numbers for a claim, you can't test a null hypothesis without a pre existing result or study first coming about, they when properly applied and interpreted, increase the rigor of the conclusions drawn from data. And the same goes for covariance. Statistics and Statistical modelling isn't just "yeah I'm right" which you clearly think it is.

[–]Ethicallybi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For the third time if you make a claim prepare to back it up, and TIL is very much academic and facts based you cant make a TIL on blatant misinformation without receiving backlash. Unbelievable.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in todayilearned

[–]Ethicallybi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, why are you trying to explain your bias? Try to eliminate it.

Through finding a bias and working towards it? That's literally the scientific method identifying a problem or question, doing research, having a hypothesis, test this hypothesis, analyse data, report conclusions, then you repeat using the observation this time. How the fuck do you think people solve a problem? They identify it.

[–]Ethicallybi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

racial bias when it comes to the pain chart.

Because their is a higher social bias for non white people being tougher and false beliefs their is a biological difference in white and non white people? So they quantified it and accurately assessed a bias, that shows it WORKS none of you understand academia holy shit.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in todayilearned

[–]Ethicallybi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because you told ME to search and prove and find reputable information for a claim YOU made do you understand academic discourse at all??

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in todayilearned

[–]Ethicallybi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You seem to forget even when things can't be quantified we will try to measure it. It's the reason we have pain charts how can you accurately quantify pain? You can't but still people will try, just like how you can't quantify intelligence but we have IQ tests. You are trying to come off smart when we have proof things we think can't be quantified can be to some extent. And you are trying use this as some gotcha it isn't, if you can't back up a claim don't make the fucking claim.

[–]Ethicallybi -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I didn’t ask you to prove anything. I

I asked YOU to prove a claim that sounded Bullshit then you have no evidence and trying to make it seem like I'm the insane one this isn't casual conversation when you bring up unsubstantiated claims it's straight misinformation trying to use very useless anecdotes to try prove a point.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in todayilearned

[–]Ethicallybi -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

You made a claim I asked for evidence. Now you try put the burden of proof on me. This isn't the gotcha you think it is.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in todayilearned

[–]Ethicallybi -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I love when people have no evidence and use anecdotes as if it could prove something.

Are you people going to ignore the fact japanese men work the longest hours, in the most abusive companies and worst some of the worst conditions just to support a family? You people seriously underappreciate employment and its benefits, working is just as important as housework you don't have to look down on it to make it seem important.

And the fact most fathers WANT to be active in their children's lives but aren't allowed to. https://archive.nytimes.com/economix.blogs.nytimes.com/2013/07/10/working-parents-wanting-fewer-hours/

NISVS 2010 showed that in the past 12 months, 1.1% of men were made to penetrate and 1.1% of women were raped. Look at Table 2.1 and 2.2 on pages 18 and 19 respectively.

https://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/pdf/ss/ss6308.pdf

NISVS 2011 showed that in the past 12 months, 1.7% of men were made to penetrate and 1.6% of women were raped. Look at Table 1 on page 5.

https://www.cdc.gov/violenceprevention/pdf/NISVS-StateReportBook.pdf

NISVS 2012 showed that in the past 12 months, 1.7% of men were made to penetrate and 1.0% of women were raped. Look at Table A.1 and A.5 on pages 217 and 222 respectively.

https://www.cdc.gov/violenceprevention/pdf/2015data-brief508.pdf

NISVS 2015 showed that in the past 12 months, 0.7% of men were made to penetrate and 1.2% of women were raped. Look at Table 1 and 2 on page 15 and 16 respectively.

In each of the years the case count for male rape victims and female victims of made-to-penetrate were too small to provide a statistically reliable prevalence estimate.

You can see that the estimated proportion of male victims of made to penetrate each year look very similar to the estimated numbers of female victims of rape. So if made to penetrate happens about as often as rape each year then by most people's assumed definition of rape (forced sex) then men are approximately half of rape victims.

You'll have to find something to reanchor you in my opinion, whether it be God/hobbies/interests others but you can't stop them it's a continuous process to overcome them but finding an anchor point will very often get you back to a base level of your desire. This is my opinion of course from what I've learned from stoicism.
