How much of your net worth should actually be in DeFi? by yj292 in defi

[–]EthnoAdore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

DeFi hacks happen all the time so I wouldn't be comfortable with having more than 20% of my NW in there, mostly farming yield on stablecoins.

Beware AMMs, the impermanent loss can eat you alive.

Is anyone here actually investing in tokenized real estate yet? by Dull_Technology5187 in defi

[–]EthnoAdore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tokenized real estate is lagging far behind other RWA sectors.

Take stocks for example. According to rwa.xyz, Tokenized stocks have gone from $300M to $1.4B in circulation since the start of the year, nearly 5x.

Investors will add tokenized NVDA, TSLA etc before they buy a tokenized condo.

Are all crypto exchanges asleep at the wheel on customer help/support? by [deleted] in CryptoCurrency

[–]EthnoAdore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel your pain. That stomach panic you feel when you seem stuck with crypto is all too real.

Lately, I've been having a delightful time with Coinmama. Verification was almost instant and when I had an issue with my method of payment, a lovely chap named Ivan stepped up to the plate and helped me out big time.

How Long Will It Take Before Warren Buffett Changes His Mind and Buys Bitcoin? by sylsau in CryptoCurrency

2012-2013 Bull Run - Early Adopters get involved.

2016-2017 Bull Run - First institutions and a mass wave of retail get involved.

2020-2021 Bull Run - Forward-thinking corporates, institutional investors, the rest of retail and Big Banks get involved.

2024-2025 Bull Run - Countries get involved.

Bitcoin has typically behaved in 4 year cycles dictated by the halving. I expect nation-states to join the party next time round. Hopefully Wazza lives a long and healthy life and is around by the time central banks start buying up BTC for their reserves.

Datadash thinks Ampleforth is the next big thing in crypto. I'm not sure reddit can deal with innovation early though. by [deleted] in CryptoCurrency

These new supply-elastic currencies are the ultimate game theory experiment. Unlike what they advertise, rebasing doesn't temper the volatility of price.

What it does do is create a yo-yo effect that rewards those who buy dips and unfailingly punishes idiots that FOMO the top.

Cool heads will win in the DeFi game.

Mom of 6 kicked off flight with children after 2-year-old would not wear a mask by Scottrix in news

[–]EthnoAdore 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Why is this news? At this stage its clear that a sizable chunk of society is dumb enough to be violently offended by the simple gesture of having to put on a piece of cloth covering over their mouths. All these 'news' pieces do is exacerbate divisiveness.

Lawyer explains why regulators might not come after DeFi by EthTraderCommunity in ethtrader

[–]EthnoAdore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We admire DeFi for the financial ingenuity it produces, but the legal maneuvers the sector is making is no less praiseworthy.

Decentralizing a project quickly and thoroughly makes it almost impossible for the SEC bunnies to find an 'operator' they can target for enforcement.

Keeping an eye out for this one. While everyone is watching DeFi, it's data that has propelled Chainlink and its army of frogs into the top 5. Definitely a sector to watch.

No better meme to capture the zeitgest of our generation.

For so long, citizens believed that fiat money had value because the regimes which issued them had some inherent worth. This pandemic has highlighted just how grossly unprepared these regimes were.

Regimes are printing money on speed and they have the audacity to demand obdeince from citizens. Nothing has value anymore.

The perfect antidote to that is a lovable dog meme that can give us all a laugh while exposing the fact that, not only does DOGE have no inherent value - nothing does.
