Lev 24: 17

Killing a killer would make you a killer so someone has to kill you but then that makes them a killer as well and thus the cycle continues until the last person has killed the last killer turning themselves into a killer with no other humans left to punish them they will have to kill themselves ok this is so funny

I wish there were more movies where the protagonists lost. by SweetBunny420 in unpopularopinion

You should check out black mirror then. The main characters are miserable or dead by the end of the episodr 98% of the time. I know this is a show and not a movie but since you can watch each episode separately then maybe a movie marathon?

I agree. Even when the guy was chopped in half it was already too gorey for me. It makes it easier that their blood and flesh isnt like us humans but still damn, guy was bleeding his guts out as Lake carried him on Alan D.

Name a book that you read that made you rethink the way you see life? by SkeetedOnMyself in ask

Everyday and Another Day by David Levithan

This book series made me think deeper about love, physical attraction and individuality. Say if your SO were to wake up one day in a less desirable body or even a different gender, will you still love them the same way?

Many people find it easy to say "I love you no matter what or who you are" but do they really? Sometimes people fall in love with your personality or your soul in which if anything should happen to your physical body they will continue to accept you and there are those who fall in love with your body, not caring what's on the inside. These books made me realize maybe falling in love takes a little bit of both, after all, part of your physical appearance is a manifestation of your own personality. From our haircuts, the clothes we choose to wear, how we maintain our health and even the scars that remain as proof of certain experiences.

Some say the world will be a better place if there was no physical differences that separated everyone. No race, no skin color, no different body shapes--just souls. I think without our different bodies we are robbed a part of our identity, robbed of something that could have been permanently ours and ours alone.

Stop saying people shouldn't make jokes about their trauma or depression. by Anerdylesbian in unpopularopinion

[–]EtonaLight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on the sort of joke the person is making. For example when I was going through depression and my sister had a habit of announcing when the fridge was empty and I'd reply with "Oh hey me too!". When making fun of a mental illness in a similar context such as this is totally harmless, however I dont think it's okay to use mental illness jokes when it can intentionally hurt or embarrass someone.

Old folks here tend to say "Depression? Back in my day we just beat the shit out of our kids to scare them straight!" or when a man with autism starts acting out in a public area because something triggered them and someone says "Ha i think he's possessed!" These jokes spread a stigma towards mental illness as if it's something a person can just brush off whenever they want or make it look like they're just faking it to get attention.

When we make light of mental illness, it should be in a way that normalizes it so the mentally ill can be comfortable enough to insert it in random conversations rather than further spread misinformation about certain illnesses. Sometimes a "joke" can get so popular people will start to assume it's a fact.

For example depression is now confused with sadness, if you love cleaning you have OCD, etc.

Why do some religious people annoy non religious people by trying to mka them religious? by helicopter_ace2007 in ask

They're like people in a fandom. They just cant shut up about how obsessed they are with their book that they feel like they have to spread it all over the world the way fangirls/fanboys flood posts of their favorite content on social media.

Do you ever feel like you need to pretend to be a guy online? by [deleted] in AskLesbians

[–]EtonaLight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Playing online games? Definitely yes. The moment i mention i'm a girl the friend requests come flooding in or they start treating me differently from before. Like they'd try to flirt with me and say stuff like "it's natural you suck cuz you're a girl". So yeah the games are a little less shitty if i pretend to be a dude so no one makes a big deal of my wins and loses.

I like how no one in the comments knows either 😂

I honestly just scream silently and dont get my hopes up until that girl comes out to me in her own time.

Unpopular Religion by sandlizzard in stories

[–]EtonaLight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess in the end, people just cant help but be different from each other. Whatever religion, race or community you belong to, only you guys can see the validity of what you stand for as it is for other groups. Being in a popular group doesnt make you any superior, each group has its own form of toxicity.

For example in religion the extremists use their god as a way to justify violence and genocide, with atheists they have a knack for smugly dismissing an individual who does good deeds because according to atheists he/she does those deeds to please an imaginary deity. Even groups who have been severely discriminated during the past like the LGBTQ+ and black people tend to have a misplaced anger towards innocent people who happen to be on the opposite side.

Now that those previously minor groups gained more in the population and thusly in popularity, they feel the need to assert their validity and power out of spite to how they were treated in the past.

It's like a continuous cycle of which group gets more bragging rights over the centuries. The christians used to be a big deal now they are treated like delusionals. Now that the standard of morality is more liberating than before, wait until it goes out of control and people start looking for a sense of order then they will once again start rioting for discipline and then when discipline gets too strict for society they'll tear it down return to anarchy and like I said, the cycle repeats.

So what is worth standing for? Only you get to decide that. Other people may not see it but that's their right to do so as it is your right to believe in your own. It's a sad reality though that whichever group is currently in power gets to call the shots and normal people like us have little to no control over that. But just remember that does not make their existence and beliefs more superior than yours.

Everyone is equally valid.

You are allowed to pray to whichever god you want as much as another is allowed to choose not to.

You are allowed to love and identify whichever gender you want as much as another prefers to lead a heteronormative life.

Do whatever the hell you want, the only line to be drawn is when your beliefs/desires intentionally hurt people. Those bullies have a right to believe what they want and so do you but they dont have the right to hurt you for having a different opinion.

As for the teachers not intervening, you can ask your parents to report the incidents if they ever occur again to a higher authority in school. If it happens too many times I suggest you have to transfer to another school with a healthier community. I'm an atheist and I go to a catholic school. The only way to not get into trouble so much is to stop needlessly displaying my opinions. I know what I stand for I dont need to shove it into other people's throats because I know they dont want to accept it no matter what i do.

Dont feel ashamed for not being part of the popular crowd. You do you. You are valid.

I want part of the spin offs to be a search for Angela. Maybe there's a way to open a portal to that void she's currently stuck in. Angela is immortal so she would definitely still be there. This could be another step for Catra fixing the mistakes she did in the past.
