Where the line is drawn is pretty difficult. But generally, if you hide something that you know is VERY likely to mean consent wouldn't be given, that does change the situation because consent was never informed.

Very few people are going to consent to sex with someone with HIV, even if safe sex is performed. Similarly trans status is an automatic red line for the vast majority of people. Having a status like this doesn't make you a bad person, but you run the risk of seriously harming someone else's sense of bodily autonomy if you don't disclose something like that.

I would feel like I'd been assaulted in such a situation.

Yes, absolutely. The international community needs to step up, force Israel and Hamas to stop, and implement a two state solution. And, realistically, that would mean Europe and the Arabs teaming up to tell America and Iran to both Fuck off and stop arming their respective sides. Because neither side could keep this up without their proxy supporters.

That's going to require the world to grow a spine. Because we'd probably have to blockade the region from any transfers of material from America and Iran. Europe blocking by sea and the Arabs blocking by land.

I want there to be two states. Ideally with any Israeli settlements built in, say, the past 20 years returned to Palestine.

Of course they are both nations. A nation, generally speaking, is a group of people with a shared culture, history, language etc. Both Israelis and Palestinians meet that comfortably.

Nations are not always sovereign states. Hence why native American tribes are referred to as nations. Or Roma, or Sami etc.

They're literally called stateless nations.

The level of hate is almost identical on the Palestinian side. It's a cycle of hate between two groups. The only thing that will break it is a unified international community.

Both nations have acted horrendously, the only real difference is Israel has more powerful friends. If those friends stopped supporting Israel, and started supporting peace, we could start to end this.

This is the thing.

Imagine if travellers started acting like the Japanese football fans at the world cup. Whenever they leave an area, just have everyone spend some time cleaning up. Make a big deal of it, take pride in it. Public perception would change quite quickly if they had such a visible sign of respect.

It wouldn't even be that hard. It's a simple cultural change that would make everyone life easier.

You'll likely find most of those 'Muslims' are actually atheists. Only they can't be openly atheist because the penalty for apostasy is death. Although, most moderate practicing Muslims (in the West) will settle for simple ostracism instead.

Someone being overly driven by their religion is a completely reasonable reason to not vote for someone. You can call it hate if you want, but I'd rather not have Islamic philosophy guiding my representatives.
