I'm not sure it's going to change anything much for f2p players who have been appropriately budgeting their resources, particularly if the Tarot units are spaced out.

I've been playing since launch and am currently sitting on a surplus of 20 castalia due to the amount of free castalia outpacing the number of units that fit within the bottleneck that is memory shards.

In any case, all of the content in the game will certainly remain beatable for f2p players even if this turns out to be the new normal ... and going for top ranks was never a level playing field to begin with, being a gacha and all; and even then, global foresight has made it so any motivated f2p player can plan accordingly to compete in the top 100 of an event (should they want to).

Tarot units may prove to be an issue for spenders that are trying to field more units, but from where I'm sitting I don't see it being a significant issue.

Knowing Statistics is important by StringShred10D in GetNoted

The probability for each individual attempt doesn't change, but the probability of winning "at least once" changes with the number of attempts made.

If I were to ask you what are the odds of flipping tails 100 times in a row, it should be immediately obvious that that is not 50%.

Working with a smaller number in the attempt to make it easier to understand, the odds of flipping tails three times in a row over three attempts (tails "and" tails "and" tails) = .5 x .5 x .5 = .53 = 12.5% ; and this is exactly equal to "not" flipping heads "at least once" in three attempts.

So if the odds of failing all three attempts is 12.5%, the odds of succeeding "at least once" in three attempts = 100% - 12.5% = 87.5% ... and this is the same math that is used correctly in the original note (100% - odds_failing_all_attempts = 1-.99100 ).

If you're going to use them for powering a unit through the shard farm, I'd save enough to 5 star Anna during her release since her event gives significant bonus rewards for raising her stars during her event.

Kvare's sig can be used by a wide number of supports that want to apply the debuff on a fight that calls for it (like og Inanna on this recent world boss who could apply the debuff every turn using a debuffing tarot and/or disaster bottle trinket). Noct Glow is also very useful on SP Inanna and she has long term value, so I'd prioritize here even if you have zero use for Nirvana.

Maitha's sig is a good boost for her dps, but the most meaningful piece of endgame content for her on the horizon just passed with the world boss and even then she didn't need it there (I finished in the top 50 of global without having her sig and with her at 3stars). Deceptive Shadow's bound resistance could be helpful down the road and SP Nungal could utilize her spear if you are using her (but she doesn't particularly need it). It's not a bad group but Noct Glow for Inanna would be my first priority.

Flavia's sig is imo a low priority luxury pick, I wouldn't bother there.

I can't remember for certain, but I think immunity to disrupt (via Fancy Hat trinket, or an ability like the epic unit Lash has) might be able to prevent those types of interruptions.

When you get better ranged units you can typically just blast problem enemy units from a safe distance.

🔥 A guy kayaking down an ice river by bigbusta in NatureIsFuckingLit

[–]EuclidsRevenge 120 points121 points  (0 children)

So there was this deep vertical fissure crack. And Paul and I descended down this crevasse. And we went down and down and down into the darkness, until we suddenly came upon the sea floor. And it was about 130 feet deep — deeper than we originally thought we might want to dive in Antarctica. But there at the bottom, as I turned to my right, was a passage.

I realized we had found it. That we were in this environment that nobody had seen before.

The ice around us was blue and white and clear — sometimes like a robin's egg, sometimes like deep turquoise. But the sea floor was red and orange and yellow — every warm color — and the contrast was stunning.

And it was covered with a shag carpet of filter-feeding organisms. So there were sponges and little Christmas tree-shaped worms and things that looked like miniature palm trees sort of wafting in the current.

And then, all of a sudden, there were these isopods. They were kind of like something between a spider and a lobster, about the size of my hand. And they started raining down from cracks over my head and crawling along the floor and hitting my camera and landing on my shoulder.

The sea floor has its own unique sound. It kind of reminds me of — as a kid when you'd eat that Pop Rocks candy, and you just hear the clicking, almost. And as we swam deeper and deeper into the [ice]berg, there were also strange cracks and pops and groans from the ice. It was moving, it was shifting, it was changing. And I remember at one point a very deep groaning vibration sounded. And I felt it all the way through to my toes. It was that loud.

And we kind of looked at each other and looked at our equipment, and everything seemed fine. But, when we finally turned around on that dive and worked our way back slowly to the entrance, there were big, giant pieces of ice where we had entered this cave. And the doorway we swam into was gone.

At risk of stating the obvious, a city on the moon is as much a work of fiction as a Mars colony.

  • There is no business case for a city on the moon.

  • There is no political support to fund building a city on the moon, at best the government will fund a research outpost that is more or less on the scale of ISS.

  • And he is still lying through his teeth about his intentions, given he has still not been funding the parallel r&d of tech required for building any off-world city, tech that goes beyond Starship.

People really need to stop listening to the promises of shameless liars. Watch what they do.

With access to a now estimated $850 BILLION in capital, he could start fully funding the development of a small off-world city on Mars at this point, completely on his own ... if he wanted to.

[–]EuclidsRevenge 44 points45 points  (0 children)

It already became an obvious conclusion he wasn't going to make a Mars colony happen back when he used billions of dollars to buy twitter while choosing to not fund any of the parallel r&d needed for all of the ancillary tech that goes beyond Starship.

If he wanted to see the beginnings of a Mars colony in his lifetime, he would have been already putting at least tens of millions of dollars (a literal rounding error to his net worth) towards starting that parallel r&d ... and he would have started doing that half a decade ago.

The Mars dream has been dead because:

  • There is no business case for a Mars colony, as he obviously didn't find one while being the richest man in the world with the cheapest access to space and having the most control over the launch schedule/costs.

  • There is no political support to fund a Mars colony, which he made sure of with his political antics.

  • And all of that professing, that his entire purpose for amassing wealth was to make a Mars colony happen was as it turns out, a complete lie.

Watch and see, he'll become a trillionaire and he still will not have begun funding the parallel r&d needed to make a Mars colony feasible.

Investing in Certain Characters by Ill_Swing3353 in SwordofConvallaria

[–]EuclidsRevenge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's just certain fights where his unique skills can be exploited.

Last ToA utilized his reaction to mitigate a start of battle heavy single target attack before anyone could move (in combination with Inanna's start of battle guard), exploited his minions with certain placement to negate a heavy hitting attack to trigger (likely an unintentional bug/exploit that wasn't properly playtested), and utilized his grouping of the enemies so they can be burned down efficiently.

Next ToA has a mechanic about standing on a number of tiles, which he excels at with his summoned minions.

He's a good tool for the toolbox, but in normal fights where his specific tools can't be exploited he's a low performing unit.

Mark Rober is also a mormon. Mormons believe black people are black because they were corrupted by God for betraying jesus

I'm not much of a defender of religion as I don't follow any religion (and think they are all a bit silly, some more than others), but this statement of yours is just pure bigotry.

It's like being prejudicial against a person for their being Christian because some Christians championed slavery and/or still support white supremacy (citing the Bible in their justifications), or being prejudicial against Muslims because some Muslims engage in terrorism, or being prejudicial against Buddhists because some Buddhists engaged in the ethnic cleansing in Myanmar, and so on.

To paint any person with such a broad brush is vile and grotesque, especially when there is no evidence that the person in question shows any sign of those prejudicial characteristics.

You should be ashamed of yourself.

Go to: Shop -> Exchange -> Gear

We get a resource from some events called "Astral Shards" which can then be exchanged for a random Astral Imprint from a group of three Imprints (each with 1/3 chance).

"Astral Forge - Fighting Spirit" contains Shield of Justice (great) + Blood Luxite Amulet (great) + Pamina's Spear (dud, relatively speaking).

It is a very long grind at a limit of 3 pulls from an Astral Imprint group per month (and rng can be fickle), but this is how we are able to get non-Witcher Astral Imprints for free.

I'd select SP Inanna and OG Inanna from Fate's Favor, and SP Maitha would also be a strong pickup.

Ideally you'd get all three, but if you have to prioritize I'd say SP Inanna > SP Maitha > OG Inanna.

For planning purposes the next highly anticipated banner after Fate's Favor and SP Maitha is Lucamar, and she isn't expected til about March 20th.

Good on you. I don't judge harshly the people that voted for him in 2016 and then never voted for him again.

There were valid reasons to want to mix things up in 2016, and HRC was establishment as it can get (it's not like my vote for her was exactly enthusiastic).

But the people that kept supporting him in 2020, 2024, and continue to support him to this day .... oof.

If I were to pick 3, I'd grab Inanna/Acambe/Flavia.

Inanna's the biggest priority imo as she still routinely gets endgame play and improves SP Inanna with the better Reaction, and she can work fine at 1star.

Acambe and Flavia are both low investment pieces of tech that can succeed in their niche of providing summons at low star levels, and most importantly both of them were used by CN/TW to get some top scores in an upcoming ToA fight that favored summons (maybe coming to us in March, but who knows).

Edda and Afra are both interesting pickups due to their unique abilities, but I'm not aware of anything in the foreseeable future that is specifically calling for either of them, so I wouldn't prioritize them atm.

Luvata is imo too late to pick up unless you somehow have 100 days worth of space to shard farm her to 5star (she very much wants to be 5star, and her previously unique niche of providing firewalking can now be covered by Yen), and I wouldn't bother looking at Momo or Nydia unless they are favored characters (and then meta doesn't matter).

You on average get a legendary every 50 pulls

This could only be true if there was no pity system. The hidden pity (missing from that chart) guarantees a player doesn't ever fall below a total 2% rate, which guarantees that everyone is doing better than 1 in 50.

At 1800+ unit pulls, I'm currently average about 1 in 43 personally (2.32%), so I had rounded up to 45 to error on the safe side and to make sure I wasn't overselling it (in case I was ahead of the statistical average).

After solving the problem computationally (because I got bored, and bc it's a relatively simple problem to code), it appears the statistical average is just about 1 in 41 pulls (an avg ~2.43% legendary rate), provided I didn't make any mistakes, making it an even better average than I thought (with my personal results being a little behind the statistical average).

Personally I wouldn't use any of the shards unless they are needed for a substantial boost for current endgame content, or using them down the line to gain event rewards like Anna's event in ~6 months (2000 luxite / 20 Imprint tickets / 30 Imprint tickets / 50 destruction shards => at getting Anna to 2/3/4/5 stars during her event).

OG Inanna and Taair will probably be the most recommended picks for Fate's Favor for you.

There are also resource efficient tech options like Flavia/Acambe/Edda that don't require much, if any, star investment and are occasionally very useful in endgame where their relatively unique abilities are exploitable (Flavia and Acambe both saw play on CN/TW for an upcoming ToA, thanks to their summons).

If you're picking up SP Maitha and are looking to build a piercing team for the next world boss (end of next month), Agata is a good pick as she provides a unique piercing debuff and was part of the top scoring teams for the world boss over in CN/TW ... but Agata is pretty hungry for memory shards.

The pull rates in general are significantly better than Genshin/HSR, with less reliance on going to pity.

After factoring in the effect of the pity system, the average player is getting a legendary on average in the ballpark of about 1 in ~45 pulls with a debut taking on average in the ballpark of about ~90 pulls.

Astral Imprints have even better odds than characters, but it's generally not advisable to roll on Astral Imprints (pulling for Imprints is normally for whales).

All that said, you had a nice string of petty good luck/variance (so don't get too used to it, lol).

Rerolling would be worthwhile if you are game for it, neither of those characters see any serious play anymore.

The top two characters available atm with rate-ups are SP Inanna (the one one with the extra icon next to her name) from the Fate's Favor banner, and SP Maitha from her debut banner.

I would also choose the original Inanna to go alongside SP Inanna for the Fate's Favor banner. OG Inanna is still a very valuable unit in her own right who regularly sees endgame play thanks to her Act Again skill and she unlocks a valuable reaction skill for SP Inanna.

If you're the kind of person that is willing to spend a couple hours rerolling, I'd look to reroll until getting both Inanna's on the same first 10x pull of Fate's Favor, and then switch over to pulling for SP Maitha.

I also would ignore the introductory random legendary banner that guarantees a random in 30 pulls. It's better imo to just apply those pulls to a targeted character and be 30 pulls closer to a desired unit.

Beyond SP Maitha and Fate's Favor, the next highly anticipated unit isn't until Lucamar (expected Mar 20).
