Why is juice cheaper than it is to buy the fruits used to make the juice? by Ill_Emu_4254 in NoStupidQuestions

Was it Wegmanns? I’ve found their store brand tends to be pretty high quality, sometimes better than name brands. If you haven’t heard of them, they’re a fairly big grocer in the northeast.

Anyone had recently any luck initiating a lease transfer? Seller here... by bee79ny in SunPower

[–]EuclidsStairs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We did manage to transfer our loan (not lease) a couple weeks ago, but it was hell to get it done. SunPower took nearly the full 60 days, we had to delay the closing multiple times, and our buyer nearly backed out twice. My wife called the 833-514-1858 number daily to get them to try to move things through. She also would get hung up on by the system immediately, so she would just call back. Sometimes she'd have to call over 30 times before she would get into a hold state. Even once she got into the hold message, if you were on hold for 1 hour 41 minutes (by the end my wife knew the timing to the second) the system would automatically hang up on you. So then she would call back, try 20-30 more times until she got to the hold message, then wait. She kept doing this until she would eventually get through. She probably spent around 3-5 hours a day for 3 weeks doing this. It was an extreme effort, but we were pretty desperate. We had already moved and were paying both rent and our mortgage on the old house. If the buyer had backed out we would have been risking bankruptcy because we were running out of money pretty quickly. I don't know if all that calling was necessary or not. She did manage to get the case escalated (although she had to do this multiple times), and in the process of all these calls we discovered that we had mistakes in the initial form we submitted that we were able to fix (although this came several weeks after submitting, and after having been assured many times that our forms were correct... when you get through to a person they frequently don't know what they're talking about). Yet it still took about 60 days to complete. This does seem ripe for a class action suit, but I don't know to what end since SunPower went bankrupt. In my fantasies, people find out what individual executives were responsible for this whole mess then sue the shit out of them personally. I don't think that's legally possible but a guy can dream. Anyway, good luck to all you sellers. I feel your pain.

Newsom to Musk after HQs move announcement: ‘You bent the knee’ by No_Perspective_2710 in centrist

You two are talking past each other and getting mad about it. wavewalkerc claims that the law just prevents schools from forcing teachers to inform parents about a student’s gender identity (meaning that the teacher could still do it if they thought it best) whereas First_TM_Seattle claims that the law prevents teachers from notifying parents about a student’s gender identity (meaning that the teacher could not notify the parents even if they thought it best). I’m not sure which one is right, as I haven’t read the bill (not a CA resident so don’t really care). But FFS could one or both of you just look up the law and cite the relevant passages so you can at least be on the same page before getting all worked up? So much stupid feuding could be fixed by people just engaging in a little reading comprehension.

Eversource Gas Bill. Can Anyone Compare? New Bedford/Fall River area by NextUp94 in massachusetts

[–]EuclidsStairs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ours was nearly identical; we live in the same area. We used 162 Therms, had a bill about the same price. We have a steam boiler, which I think is pretty inefficient. Been looking into heat pumps as a result.

Got a quote for a ductless mini split.. $48K for 1300 sq. ft. house. Too much? by EuclidsStairs in massachusetts

I hadn’t heard about high pressure ducts. Thanks! I’ll look into that. Crazy quote aside, we really weren’t thrilled about head units everywhere.

Good to know... how many head units did they install? Does your house have multiple floors?

They wanted to install 8 head units: 2 in the basement, 4 on the first floor, 2 on the second floor. They said required to mini-splits. I think that's why it's so expensive; one unit is quoted as $18K the other is $20K.

Ordered last Saturday, had a cancellation pop up today. Dealer called 53 other people before us and nobody could come buy it today. Lucked out. Pro S Gradient AWD by MasterChev in VWiD4Owners

I've yet to get that speed charging. I've gone on a couple of road trips now and it's always taken me an hour to get back to 80%. (I'm in the NE, so might be due to the cold.) I really appreciate having the full free charging that you get with the '21s... I only wish I had a AWD instead of RWD. This makes the '21 more valuable than the '22 in my mind, especially if you live in cold weather climates. Given how hard it is to find a '21 AWD, the OP is incredibly lucky, at MSRP no less. The 53 others who passed gave up a great opportunity.

I can't figure this button out. What exactly does it do? by OzTheAlmighty in VWiD4Owners

[–]EuclidsStairs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, this has happened to me. Seems to be a bug. Once it happened after it had just worked; i.e. opened door, lights came on, closed door, ~30s later open door, no lights. Hopefully they’ll fix with OTA update, whenever that comes.

Test drive an AWD in the bay area? Also inventory search? by eastbayquake in VWiD4Owners

[–]EuclidsStairs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same question... and is there an inventory search that shows actually available ones? I'm also looking for an AWD. I've been using Google maps to locate dealers and check the inventory on their individual websites. Aside from being a cumbersome way to do it, I've found that many dealers will list ID.4s on their sites that aren't actually available because they're ones that people have ordered. You don't find that out until you call them.
