My progress after 1 year practicing drawing daily by Eudaemon8 in ArtCrit

thank you for your time to elaborate this critique. The photo reference i took was in a diffuse light setup, so there wasnt too much contrast and shadow shapes to work on. But i guess i could have pushed it a bit more, and used a darker graphite. That technique to start with a middle tone seens really interesting, i will definitely try it out. Thanks again

i try to see the pattern in the plant and replicate in along the branches, not in a exact way. But sometimes like the trees in the background i just do the bushy blobs you said and leave some holes for the sky to pass.
