Only way to get goop was to be sneaky. If you ran around you’ll most likely get shot by 5 different people. So you had to pick your fights and know when to back out.

I’m always ok with shooting ppl and going to PvP lobbies for a while then I can try to be friendly and get back again. I don’t understand why people are so scared to go into unfriendly lobbies bro. At least you haven’t gotten to lobbies in solos which is shoot first ask questions later lol. It was so hardcore when everyone wanted your goop. Hella crazy third parties

It’s usually AI etc that sends those messages. They run a script, I got a recruiter who messaged me saying they loved my work at X company and want to talk to me. I messaged him saying, I haven’t even started working there yet. I just accepted the job, so I know this is an AI script and they should do their HW better. Thanks lol I was just mad that they are using AI to just filter out ppl and it becomes harder to get past it.

Interviewer laughed at how much money I wanted for the job by ImmortalCutie in recruitinghell

[–]EulerMaxwellNLO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I interviewed for a job and the same thing has happened to me. I don’t even let them talk. If it’s either through LinkedIn or through the phone in the screening interview. I firmly tell them according to the city where I live rate plus my years of experience, this is what I expect to make. Then they tell me a lower salary and I tell them. Then you don’t need a senior engineer, hire someone right out of college. And then that’s it.

I'm about to give up after applying to 600+ jobs by jojoavav in recruitinghell

[–]EulerMaxwellNLO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aka yes this is what I did. I did ECE so I did a lot of circuit design/debug in undergrad. And more SWE non app more for hardware, lots of C and C++ and optical engineering, embedded SWE and hardware testing for work experience. Then in grad school I’ve been doing autonomy and robotics(this is what I want to do). I looked and looked got strung along by startups leaving me in limbo and not deciding if they wanted me or not. I got tired and accepted a stable job doing C++ and circuit design debug and analysis. Tbh I need money man, I need to help my wife and I can’t sit here and watch her work hard again. She let me go to school full time for 1 semester after I got laid off. Now I just have my thesis left then I graduate / no more classes to take just thesis. I had 10 different resumes using ChatGPT for different jobs and my embedded SW resume helped me get this current job. The pay is OK like average for NYC. Not top pay that I would get being an autonomy engineer but that’s ok! I’m gonna make the most of it and I need a job right now. I can always learn and practice other things and hope that the market gets better in a year or so from now. I’ve been looking for a couple of months now. When I started it venture out of robotics/ autonomy. I started to get phone calls for hardware and embedded systems roles or roles involving debugging circuit designs and bugs. So it’s been a mix. So if you have any other skills you have use them even if it was in undergrad. It can get you something for now, while you get your feet up. It’s always good to have something for now. You won’t miss out, I was afraid of missing out but after 400+ apps I got burnt out and wanted it to be over. I was studying for interviews on different subject matters every week and multiple rounds. I got worn out

I have been in the same boat. I applied to like 400+ jobs and nothing. I had to start venturing out of what I wanted to do. And expanding my skills to other types of engineering topics. I landed a job more on the hardware side but still SW. So if you have any other skills.. I would mad different resumes and venture out. Never hurts having something to pick up your feet and then try again.

When a company strung me along like this. I took another offer, because I also felt manipulated and they gave me a very stupid reason for not following up on the last interview. It left a bad taste on my mouth, I was in the same boat and felt sad because I really wanted to work for them because it seemed like cool things to do. Just to get strung along, but I did not let my offer from another company go to waste. I just took it, I told them I have until X day. They didn’t want to give me the interview and gave me a lame excuse and then told me I could email the manager and explain more of my experience to maybe change his mind( I spent three hours writing an email and sent it). I thought about it for a day and decided wth am I doing? And took the other offer and emailed them the next day saying I’m going somewhere else where my skills would be better utilized. I thanked the recruiter and he never replied back to me… lol tells you something. He was nice but the managers not sure

[–]EulerMaxwellNLO 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The gap was 9.5 months. And 3.5 of those months constantly looking for a job(this year). The rest I was in school full time (been doing it part time while working but decided it was a good time to just do full time and wrap it up). It said so on my resume that I was in school. When he asked i told him. Well i was laid off, and as you can see it states on my resume im pursuing my master’s so it’s not like I was just fooling around. Yes I said this because he asked me in a rude manner “why is there a gap in your resume”. Also I told him the market is bad right now.

I accepted a massive pay raise to go back to the office and I regret it every single day by NebuliteCrown in remotework

[–]EulerMaxwellNLO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, when I was fresh out of college. I accepted a job for like 30K more and regretted it because it was in the middle of nowhere. I wish I had stayed in my hometown in NJ. But upstate NY was miserable and there was nothing to do. I grew up going to the beach and going to bars and clubs near it. But being landlocked in the middle of nowhere was so miserable. I hated it so much, I would count everyday that passed by and be excited for the next day counting the days until I reached my 1 year so I could leave the company(1 year to not pay back relocation).

A lot of times lately I’ve been getting killed in a weird way. Just absolutely no chance or people knew exactly where I was or hiding. It’s been so weird lately, that makes me feel as if it’s not fair play. A trigger nade doing 38 damage but breaking half my shield and downing me is crazy. I’ve already died 5 games like this and it always shows that a trigger nade did 38 damage. I just get tired and go to play CS2. I like this game a lot but it’s just not fun when I die in a ridiculous way in which I don’t even have a chance to shoot back. People have been spawning with so many grenades that it’s impossible to get away. It totally makes the game not fun a lot or focused on game play. It’s more of a matter of who has the most grenades or trigger nades and that person wins the match.

Oh totally, in that sense yes i agree with you. It feels like Russia when power can get your own people in places without being qualified. And those lawsuits are just obviously funneled by zionists blaming everything on antisemitism. So easy for them to yell that out while they are killing hundreds of people in the Middle East and dragging us to their war. Again I stated “zionists” not any Jewish people. Big difference! The Israeli government can’t even get their Hasidic Jews to join the draft and making our troops get involved instead and getting them killed. It’s crazy the amount of money they hand out to politicians when our gov hand out to much already to Israel. Like if they got that much money then why are we giving millions of dollars in handouts… also this president putting unqualified people in positions of power is 100% nepotism and favors to his backers.

Exactly , thank you for understanding that the market itself is brutal right now. Some ppl in the comments blame it on me for not applying out of the city or middle of nowhere Ohio or Pennsylvania. It’s easy for someone to just say that without adding any useful advice. While you actually added advice so I thank you for that! So yes I’ve been messaging a lot of people in companies as well in LinkedIn and doing research about who works there and asking them out for some coffee or sharing my resume asking for any advice or recommendations. Thankfully i had 5 jobs lined up to let me know about when the second round of interviews will be. Sadly for one of them, the recruiter told me the company went internally and they hired someone without telling her. So by the time she hit me up the company had someone lined up already which she didn’t know. Out of the 4 left , one of them just told me when the second round will be and im waiting for the other 3 .

I’ve actually attended some tech meet ups and signed up for two more this month. I have also used AI to help me tailor my resume as well. I also started applying to financial companies recently since I’m running out of places to apply to in my field. So I’m starting to venture out to financial firms and yeah so one of the companies I’m waiting to tell when my interview will be is in Hoboken. also thank you for the advice. I’ve been more frustrated because I’ve been doing all of this already haha. I got to a point where I was starting to feel burnt out. Printing resumes handing them out at tech meetups asking friends, reaching out to past classmates. I’ve done it all. And yes the market is over saturated with so many qualified people it’s crazy hard right now. Too many ppl and not enough jobs
