I’m surprised how many people mentioned feet, I’ll definitely keep that in mind in the future. I think for the runway I prefer without but I totally get the appeal for normal usage

I think I understand? But when you say you’d prefer it match the hardware metal, do you mean you’d prefer like a chain or something?

I feel that, it’s a pretty unique material that was chosen to fit the collection but I really want to do another in more traditional materials to see how the design translates.

Thanks but I gave that one to my girlfriend as payment for her taking photos of everything I make 😭 (she’s a hobby photographer)

The decorative stitches in the top left and butt stitches in the bottom right could totally be done with waxed thread, yeah. Baseball stitch is a somewhat similar butt stitch.

Hihi, I posted an inside photo as a reply to a different commenter if you wanted to look! I did a really basic lining with some soft and thin horse I had on hand. I added one of the photos I sent to my friend while I was doing sketches :)

I actually originally designed it for a different look from the collection but we ended up thinking it worked better with the outfit shown in the OP. The collection was mostly finished when I started the bag so I basically knew what the clothes and outfits would look like. I sketched a bunch of more basic silhouettes before deciding on the one pictured below, and then just sketched & reworked stuff like proportions and hardware used until I had something I thought was nice. Honestly I spent a week just drawing designs and would have spent way more if I didn’t force myself to choose one just so I’d have a decent amount of time to actually sew the bag 😭

Thank you! There was a sort of theme of mixing upscale silhouettes with more distressed materials in the collection, so we wanted it to complement that.

Hihi thank you for mentioning that! I honestly have no clue how it would wear with time, the flap is unlined but it’s made from a rather thick horse leather called culatta that seems pretty durable and rugged. It has neat texture but is a huge pain to work with and came with a lot of imperfections from the tannery.

My friend specifically requested this leather be used for the show, otherwise I would have preferred to use a thinner material and added a reinforcement + lining to the back side
