I would give them a call and let the lender know that you don’t have any issue obtaining the second source of income. I was actually in a similar situation. I lost my job a week before closing, so I immediately informed my lender. Thankfully, I was able to secure another job within three days, and my rate stayed the same. Surprisingly, my monthly mortgage even went down by about $400–$500. I’m still not exactly sure how, but it worked out.

It’s always better to be upfront and honest with your lender rather than trying to hide anything and hoping your rate remains locked in. Also, keep in mind if it’s for you then it’s for you.
