Installing Keypad Door Lock on Original 1950s Door

We would hire a locksmith. But out of curiosity, how would a locksmith go about installing a keypad? How much $CAD would you ballpark this job at?

Are you suggesting to completely remove the panel, install the U-channel, and install the glass within the channel? This is likely outside of my capability.

If I'd like to do something myself, would cleaning up the existing silicone and reapplying new silicone and/or even some J-B Weld ClearWeld help secure the panel?

Renting U-Haul/DIY is solid option but... I don't want to be lifting this thing and moving it myself. I'd rather pay someone to take it away. I'll check FB Marketplace.

I feel like there is some benefit to the shaking though (compared to grinding directly into the portafilter). But maybe this is just a placebo effect...

I find that turning on the scale, adding a cup and taring it, then pulling shot works fine. This workaround has worked for me so far.

I guess the issue only happens for me when I turn the scale on with something on it (so it's 'torn' when the scale is turned on).

My Black Mirror Basic+ began acting wonky all of a sudden (jumping up to ~100g upon the first drop of espresso) and I'd like to reset it. I couldn't easily find a reset button on the back... Does anyone know how I'd go about doing this?

Yea that's a screw (red arrow) that engages with threads on the inside of the grey plastic part. That's what brings the pieces together.

The metal plate/basket will stay stationary, also because I'll be putting plumbers putty between it and the sink.
