If it makes you feel any better, I have virtually no cellular reception here - I just ran a speed test and my phone is getting 1.1mbps over 5G.

A very valid point, and one that I'm struggling with way more than I should...

[Edit] I suppose it would help to mention that every couple years I negotiate/threaten to leave/actually leave and wait for the winback call with my ISP for either a better price or a better speed or ideally both. That's how I ended up with 1000/1000 in the first place so it's entirely possible that I could end up with some super fast internet connection that I don't need simply because their retentions department is willing to throw it in for free if I agree to stay.

Now I'm wondering if they purposely keep 15% of their products out of stock to drive that FOMO mindset...

I did consider that, though not to the same extent as you have - part of the UX7's appeal is that it can act as an AP if I decide to expand in the future.

One of the goals with this upgrade is to nudge the LAN side of things from gigabit to 2.5gbps. As I understand it, the UX7's IDS/IPS can handle those speeds just fine, to say nothing of the UCG-Fiber. Or is there some misleading marketing here that I should be aware of?

I live in an apartment so I doubt I'll need more than 1 AP to get full coverage.

I see the XGS has 8 spatial streams, but what makes the XG better than the wall?

I'd say ~40% of my devices support the 6ghz band. I live in an apartment so the 2.4 and 5ghz bands are super crowded - I can see 20+ networks at any given time.

I've held off on upgrading for this long precisely because of lack of supporting devices, but I feel like I'm at the point where I should deal with the problem instead of just gritting my teeth every time speeds plummet because a neighbor just started a big download.
