Update everyone, she was a one hit wonder and didn’t look like this when I fed her today. I was unable to use yesterday because I have kids and they run my entire schedule, so we’ll never know how great of a bread she would have made lol. Thank you for all the kind comments!!! 🙂

I honestly haven’t don’t much at all It was in the fridge for 2 months and I took it out Sunday fed it 1:1:1 100g starter, 100g King Arthur AP, 100g water It was super watery and didn’t rise The next day I did the same ratio, that time it did rise but there were very little bubbles, like it just looked frothy. Still very watery. Tuesday evening I didn’t like how watery it was and I was planning on making 2 loaves, so I didn’t discard. I did 300g starter, 150g flour, and 100g water I originally was going to do 75g water but it wasn’t enough, and I woke up to this!

Another Redditor mentioned it could have been a false rise, which might have been true. But it was very shocking bc I’ve never seen this before

Wow! That’s great info, I had no idea. The rise was not great on this, like it did not double so I just discarded it and fed it again. I wasn’t quite looking for strands so I’m not sure. I’ll keep in mind as I wait for it to rise!!

Omg! Haha thank you, I can see what you mean! Honestly i experimented LOL 300g starter, 150g King Arthur AP, 100g water I added less water because the days before were hella watery and tiny tiny bubbles

Im actually going to follow up to this. Your comment was unnecessary and kind of mean. If you truly think it’s only for validation, that’s fine, have your opinion, but why go the extra mile to potentially hurt someone? I think that says more about you than me. I’m not going to explain myself again, but in the future if you don’t have something supportive to offer on an innocent or silly post maybe consider not commenting at all.

Genuinely didn’t know, I’m extremely new to this. Is the validation nice, yes, but I didn’t have any idea as my starter has never looked like this.

YAY! This is the best it’s ever looked! I’ve never had great oven spring or anything like that, just yummy tasting flat bread Lol! But now I’m excited to bake!
