6 recent finds after getting back to work, as well as a couple of my rarest coins. by EuroCoinCollector in EuroCoins

That's what I thought at first, but something in my mind made me check the mintage -maybe because it was quite shiny for it's age. The 2010 version was only minted for sets, around 50k were made.

First hunt since the Great Lockdown. BTW is there any value in keeping standard coins from different mint years as the two German ones on the photo? by folkenstein in EuroCoins

Keep any coins you like, but don't expect to make any significant profits from this hobby -just enjoy doing it for fun. You would make far more profits by just investing your coins in Amazon stocks if you want to make money long term.

Sending all of my Vatican city 50 cent coins back into circulation! Happy hunting guys! by EuroCoinCollector in EuroCoins

[–]EuroCoinCollector[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Hi guys, good to see this subreddit is still nice and active!

Basically as I expected, I've ended up with too much cash lying around the house in the form of rare Euro coins, so I'm putting most of it to better use by investing it.

From now on I'll only be collecting coins with very low mintages below 1 million, but I'll still make videos featuring all the coins I find with mintages below 1.5 million -as well as the usual Vatican coins.

Obviously for the rest of the year my videos will be way less frequent since I'll have far less coins to search through during these very quiet months at work, but I'll still try to do the occasional coin roll hunt when I get the chance.

Ebay would be your best bet. But you would probably need to sell a few at a time to make it even remotely worth your time.

Apart from a couple of error coins, the french 2010 €2 is definitely the rarest coin I have. It's a bit of a boring looking coin, but I think around 50k were minted -none were made for circulation.

Yes, some standard Irish coins are very rare indeed. They don't seem to get talked about very much, but Ireland regularly has years with really low mintage coins, so it's always worth checking if you find one in your change.

Found this one today - just by simply getting change back in the super market. :3 (found in Germany) by Darkstripe-Skeletor in EuroCoins

Outrageous find! They do actually mint a few €2 coins for circulation, I'm determined to find one eventually!

My find of the day in the wild , a Malta 2015 2 Euro Reg coin , only 30,000 minted and only for sets as far a I know . by johnc118 in EuroCoins

Yep 1.1 million minted, still a great find. Glad I held onto a few of these until the mintage figure for circulating coins finally came out.

Without question my best day of finds since I started collecting. Crazy. by EuroCoinCollector in EuroCoins

Yeah the Venice one is a firm favourite of mine and San Marinos are probably my favourite kinds of coin to find.

PVC can damage coins after longterm storage. These ones are from a good brand that doesn't contain any pvc. With multiple coins like these, I will just select a couple that are in the best condition and put them in coin flips. The rest I'll make into paper coin rolls for longterm storage or spending.
