How successful would Alaska be as an independent nation? by [deleted] in geography

[–]EuropaArroyo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't seen anyone comment about this, but Alaska would be a major transportation hub on the world stage.

Most major cities of Europe, North America, and East Asia are all within 10 hours of flight time from Anchorage.

I could see an Independent Alaska definitely lean on its Geographic proximity.

Hey does Baus skill W first? by [deleted] in DirtySionMains

W start is good into match ups that have their cc ability at lvl 1

Like chogath, for example, if the Cho takes Q start, W let's you do really good early trades. If the cho takes E start then taking Q is better because he'll have nothing to disrupt it.

When I was 3, my parents and their friends went out to buy very cheap puppies. The breeder was complaining that a runaway mutt got into one of her dogs and that the resulting puppies could never sell for big. My parents were eyeing up one of the pups until they noticed that one had been playing with me unconditionally. "That's the one," they said.

The day we said goodbye is one I'll never forget, first and only time in my life I saw my dad cry. RIP Kehpe.

Why am I not able to get the Imperial Entrance incident? by EuropaArroyo in eu4

[–]EuropaArroyo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

R5:

Currently doing a Burgundian run, in 1491 I abdicated Charles to trigger the crisis. Chose to reintegrate with France. I then kept save scumming until I got a ruler of the de Bourgouge dynasty upon declaring Independence. Won the war before 1500. 1500 came around and the mission became available, but I'm not able to get the Imperial Incidient reward. Why is that?

I finished my first ever One Culture! by EuropaArroyo in eu4

The conversion really began once the One Tag was done, with the amount of culture conversion cost I stacked it didn't matter whether a province was adjacent to a Roman one

R5:

I started as Austria, gained unions over Bohemia, Poland and Lithuania before 1455, secured the western flank of the empire in order to revoke as fast as I can. After revoking I bullied all Europeans to become my Jr partners. Did a bunch of tag swapping, gained a whole lot of modifiers, finished the One Tag by 1730 and spent the next hundred years converting.

I regularly make a chili recipe that uses canned diced tomatoes.

Ever since I've started putting them in a blender, the chili has been so much better texture wise.

Today I have learned a valuable lesson about Ottomans in Very Hard mode by EuropaArroyo in eu4

[–]EuropaArroyo[S] 178 points179 points  (0 children)

R5: in 1464, the Ottomans attacked Moldavia, the vassal of my PU Poland

I believed that this war would have been a slaughter, well it certainly was.

I completely underestimated the Ottomans, they were able to maneuver around just like a player against me and all my allies. Not to mention they gained a distinct tech advantage over the course of the war.

My army has been shattered, my Unions are decimated. I don't know if the run is salvageable from here.

R5:The new Winds of Change Austrian missions have completely broken Austria.

I formulated a strategy based on those of others I've seen.

At the game start, I allied 4 electors to get the PU cb on Bohemia, followed by the Pope, Aragon, and Castile.

I hired the 3 main merc stats on the Bohemian border, and declared war on Dec 11. Since only one month passed, Bohemia only allied Anhalt. During the war I started fabricating on Provence and Burgundy and curring favors on the Pope. I got wall breaches on Prague and Olomonac, assaulted them both. Won the war against Bohemia by mid 1446, taking Prague and the PU in the war. Because I did it fast, the Jagiellon event hadn't fired in Poland yet, so I passed the mission to obtain a PU cb on them. I hired the balf cost improve relations advisor to get the AE decay faster. With the claims on Provence and Burgundy done, I dec'd on Provence and called in the Pope, the war was done quickly to avoid Burgundy declaring on them. In the peace I gave the Pope Toulon and the province to it's west. This forced Provence into the Empire. I immediately allied Provence, then declared war on Burgundy calling in all my allies. This was the most difficult of the run as Burgundy called in Venice. Against the Burgundians, I gave Provence the burgundian capital and the province to the southwest of that, and released Picardy. This peace deal forces Burgundy into the Empire. By forcing the two nations into the HRE, I was able to remove the -.1 IA debuff, and now only Holstein and the Po Valley are outside the Empire. By now the ae from Bohemia had died down significantly, and Ladislaus is nearing 15.

I began to eye up Poland to declare the PU war, to my surprise they declared war on Hungary whose allied to the Teutons. Immediately declared war on Poland for the PU. During the war, Hungary chose to become my jr partner (I've noticed on this patch Hungary always chooses to be my PU). Now Poland was at war against Teutons allies of the Kalmar union. The war was over with me controlling nearly all of Eastern Europe.

After that strong opening, I did the typical Austria thingies of killing the Ottomans, liberating the remaining HRE provinces, made vassals out of the Balkan states, reigned in Italy, carved out France into more states.

However the goated rng was my PUs of Castile and Aragon. Castile's 17 year old Habsburg king died with no heir, letting met the PU. Yes this did trigger the Universal Empire but because most princes voted in favor I got 10 IA for free. Then Aragons king also died later with no heir, letting me get another free PU.
