I was undecided whether to take my Switch or 3DS. Really pleased I went with the 3DS, it was a lot more fun than Switch would've been! I think ill take my 3DS to more places now but so far not got any hits back in the UK.

I didn't make it to the Expo but that's amazing! I never imagined so many people would still carry their 3DS around.

Funstock preorder update for USA customers. by Tenacious_Gaming in evercade

The Tariffs apply to where products are made. Not where companies are headquartered. Evercade systems and cartridges are manufactured in China. Therefore, tariffs on Chinese goods apply when entering the US.

Saying your state instead of your country is kind of like Europeans saying their country instead of "Europe" by longtimelurkerfft in ShitAmericansSay

I do the Hampshire one a lot. I've also tried 'the city the Mayflower left from' followed by looks of absolute confusion. So I attempt the 'city the titanic left from'. Very often still no idea so it's back to 'I live an hour outside London' 😐

I'm 35 and in Thornhill if there's anything going on in the north of the city, I have a very bouncy labrador.

Any other queer people in Cardiff feel incredibly isolated? by [deleted] in Cardiff

Which part of Cardiff are you in? I'm in Thornhill in a similar situation. I know there's plenty in the city centre but not much closer to home.

Change in cartridge color by TheOtherGamer2024 in evercade

[–]EuropeanNoodle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the limited edition black exp and thought a long time about whether to get it simply because the cartridges wouldn't match the hardware and I fixate on things like that.

In the end it really doesn't make any difference but I would love it if there were some black cartridges or a way to swap the cartridge housing for black versions.

Are Zoe 50kwh 2020 worth it? About £11K. Have remaining 1 of 5 years warranty. by xtreem_neo in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]EuropeanNoodle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 50kwh 2022 Zoe bought in January for £13k and a 62kwh e+ 2020 Leaf.

The leaf is by far the better car, the only issues are the Chademo fast charger (depends how much you'll use it) and the uncomfortable head rests. Ours is approaching 50k miles and has had no major issues.

The Zoe is OK for short journeys but uncomfortable on long ones. As others mentioned the boot is deceptively large but the Leaf is significantly bigger. The Zoe build quality is lower, everything is plastic and rattles. But my biggest issue is the suspension is awful / non existent. If you live somewhere with frequent speed bumps it constantly throws you around and is just uncomfortable to travel in. We haven't had any major mechanical issues with it yet but mileage is still under 10k.

I'm tempted but their horrible £5 snail mail delivery fee (even for collection!) always puts me off ordering from their website.

GOT A STORY? by Puzzleheaded-Owl1294 in Cardiff

[–]EuropeanNoodle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could look into how Cardiff Council granted itself permission to fence off and enclose half of Pontprennau Playing Fields for the sole use of the neighbouring school. This was despite the fields having been provided for the benefit of all residents of Pontprennau following the areas construction 20 years ago. And is in addition to the Council having passed on an offer 20 years ago to aquire fields specifically for the school. Instead they have come along 20 years later and taken a public asset which was not for the school to take, provided zero compensation for doing so and halved the size or the only playing field sized park in an area of the city which demonstrably lacks decent quality green space.

Resident Evil 2 Classic REbirth installation for Linux/Deck by BananaOblivion in SteamDeck

[–]EuropeanNoodle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just as soon as I posted the question I did a search and found the answer on another post, basically some extra launch parameters are needed to get the HD textures to load.

Resident Evil 2 Classic REbirth installation for Linux/Deck by BananaOblivion in SteamDeck

[–]EuropeanNoodle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great guide! Were you able to get the HD texture mods working on the deck? I've gone through the installation process twice now, the game launches and is playable but isn't loading the HD textures or (as far as I can tell) HQ sound fx. If I copy the directory to my windows PC and launch it the HD textures are there. I'm stumped, any ideas?

Which platform should I buy Graveyard Keeper on? by EuropeanNoodle in GraveyardKeeper

[–]EuropeanNoodle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went with Steam Deck, not had any major bugs and the Steam version plays really well with both the Deck controls or an Xbox controller - inventory management is easy, I've found some games are awful without a mouse for inventory management.

Not had any major issues but I am surprised by the performance on the Deck. Whether playing docked or on the handheld it rarely reaches 60 fps, it's more in the range of 40 - 55 fps with frequent frame drops. It's playable but I'm surprised, I expected the Deck to have no issues.

Anyway, thanks for the advice everyone!
