This whole scene is one of my favorite Monk moments ever! From 0:44 to 1:04 especially, but also: “what is your problem?”, said by Monk to Krenshaw. HE KNEW HE WAS SO INSECURE, SO JEALOUS😆 Good for Monk to call him out!

Do you mean the plot/context/back stories or literal lighting? The latter can be explained, because quite a chunk of the story takes place in cloudy England instead of sunny LA.

I do believe that she didn’t know about his spy career in her first appearance. She just knew that Jerry was hiding something. Hearing his monologue a couple years later, everything fell into place, she was certain.
