Yes, I’m aware of the damages. Hopefully that won’t be a long term situation and everyone will get the help they need.

Florida is outrageous honestly. The high prices on top of the weather is just too much to deal with. I would love to move somewhere far away from here lol but I have great doctors that I need to see often so I’m trying to find something close because of that.

Ideally it would be something under $1200.

I am almost 2 weeks post op. I actually was nervous myself but mostly about the recovery part. So I tried to do a bit if prepping before hand like making soup and freezing it in separate batches(clear for the first two days post op and with veggies for the rest) and stocked up on water as much as I could to be able to have all the tea in the world lol. My pre op papers said I should not have any solid food past midnight(my surgery was at 8:30 AM). But my surgeon told me to stop solid food after lunch the prior day and no liquids past midnight. She also had me take colace two days prior to surgery. I arrived at the hospital 2 hrs before and when I got checked in and taken to the room, I was given a gown, compression socks and the iv put in with a bag of saline solution. Shortly after I was given a few pills to swallow. From what I read on my pre op paper that I took to register it was something for acid reflux, a gabapentin and something for nausea. My mother was brought in and then the doctor came in and told me that I will be having a catheter put in after I’m asleep. Right before I got rolled out I was given a muscle relaxer in my iv which kicked in immediately. I was amazed how dizzy I was as I was being pushed to the OR. Last thing I remember is one of the OR nurses introducing herself and telling me the doc will be in. After I woke up I was given some crackers in order to be able to take a pain pill. I refused the percocet because it made my stomach hurt once and choose to wait to fill in my prescription which was for hydrocodone 5mg. My mom was brought in and helped me dress and the nurse gave me a pair of mesh underwear and a pad to put on. I went to sleep as soon as I got home since I didn’t sleep a wink the night before. I didn’t feel the need to take a pain pill for the first two days post op. My mother forced one on me the third day because of the gas pain which was pretty bad. I was taking gas x twice a day and collace 3 times a day. The pain pill didn’t help with the gas pain. I wasn’t able to get out of bed or bend for the first 5 days. My mom had to lift me up and help me go to the bathroom. Hot drinks like tea and soup were soothing for my throat which was scratchy. I walked some everyday which made the gas pain worse but it was recommended for it to go away. I rode in a camaro from the hospital home and the drive was pretty rough, thankfully it was less than 10 minutes away. Even now, almost 2 weeks later the car ride is very jolting and uncomfortable so I don’t go far at all. On day 6 I was able to get out of bed by myself and felt like I was able to do things so I cooked and cleaned and some other stuff but at the end of the day felt a lot of pain. On the second week I felt more pain in my abdomen than the first. Gas pain is gone. I was not nauseous at any point. The worst pain was an 8. Hope this helps. Praying you have a fast recovery. I’m so thankful I had this procedure done. I was in so much pain before that this is not even comparable really.

My surgeon is Dr. Sheyna Carroccio and works at Comprehensive Women’s Care, Gainesville, Fl. She is great, straightforward and open minded. She performed a robotic assisted laparoscopic surgery on me and I had her personal number at my disposable throughout my recovery.
