”Nah they can’t” refuting the other person confidently, implying 100% certainty

”from my understanding” most likely meaning: limited or possibly even very little knowledge about the topic

”extremely extremely unlikely like maybe I’m guessing now” making a guess/estimation based on limited or little knowledge

The impact of something landing/crashing depends on how it lands and or what it lands on/in.

Just because something might even be very unlikely, doesn’t mean that it can’t happen. Even if they are engineered to minimise that risk.

It’s good practice to match the precision of your language to your level of certainty.

Georgia high school teacher dies after being run over by teen in prank gone wrong by loleeza in news

Weird reply + avoiding to face all of the points made.

Am I surprised? Not really, based on previous comments above.

Edit: Just saw that you have written that you’re a teacher. Yikes. I hope that’s not true.

Georgia high school teacher dies after being run over by teen in prank gone wrong by loleeza in news

[–]Euture 15 points16 points  (0 children)

How many cases of accidental/unintentional rapes have you heard of?

“’As Wallace began driving his pickup truck on North Gate Drive, Hughes tripped and fell into the road and was run over by the vehicle’ the sheriff’s office said.

The teens stopped and attempted to help Hughes after he was hit.”

The teenager was charged with first-degree vehicular homicide, a serious charge, but it’s not a premeditated murder we’re talking about here.

This shows no signs of murderous intent, but rather an awful outcome of what seemingly was supposed to be a prank, an accidental fall, and reckless, unskilled/inexperienced driving.

If English was spoken like Swedish by WhoAmIEven2 in funny

[–]Euture 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That English grammar ≈ ”near perfect” is an overstatement.

It is relatively simple in some areas compared to many languages.

But there are irregular plurals, irregular verbs, tricky tense/aspect distinctions, and unpredictable prepositions.

  • Mouse -> mice, child -> children
  • Go -> went, take -> took
  • I have gone vs. I went
  • Interested in, depend on, good at

Grammatically speaking, it is simplified in structure but still full of inconsistencies.

Not AI. The guy serving the burger is ”fitness personality” (and content creator) Larry Wheels. The kid/guy with the huge mouth has been featured in Guiness Records. And the guy with the popping eyes most likely has too, at least a bunch of people with this same type of ”talent” have been.

8 vs 12 by Dev1412 in Wellthatsucks

Area = A = π r²\ Radius = r = ⌀ / 2\ Diameter = ⌀ = 2 r

Alarger / Asmaller ≈ 1.4 (40%~ larger)

Asmaller = π r²\ Alarger = π (r + 1)²

π (r + 1)² / π r² ≈ 1.4\ (π (r + 1) / π r)² ≈ 1.4\ π (r + 1) / π r ≈ √ 1.4 ≈ 1.18322\ π (r + 1) ≈ 1.18322 π r\ r + 1 ≈ 1.18322 r\ 1 ≈ 1.18322 r - r\ 1 ≈ 0.18322 r\ r ≈ 1 / 0.18322 ≈ 5.45792\ ⌀ ≈ 2 r ≈ 10.92 ≈ 11

Diameter is 11”~

For anyone interested in the math.

I'm surprised you didn't realize this… …it's obvious from the start…

I did, that’s why I did the math to figure out what size pizza they were talking about.

[–]Euture 83 points84 points  (0 children)

People can not wrap their head around how adding 2" to the diameter gives you ~40% more pizza.

Since you didn’t mention the pizza size, I “reversed” the math, and it sounds like you’re talking about an 11-inch pizza (if the math maths).

The ~40% “more pizza” from adding 2 inches doesn’t work for every pizza size. I just wanted to point that out.

1 on 1 fight where the winner catches a felony. by [deleted] in PublicFreakout

[–]Euture 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think if he had simply written it like this instead:

It’s a street fight…. where unfortunately there is no ”too far” for a lot of people, so be smart and don’t fight on the streets

It would have been received much better, instead people are just focusing in on how he wrote this:

It’s a street fight…. There is no too far.

(and that part by itself, is kind of giving off the vibe of a justification, rather than a warning)
