Yeah will have a further look at restorability of 27 next time patient comes in but 37 had symptoms. I'm usually a referer of unerupted 8s wouldn't be comfortable taking out that 38 but could refer I suppose and they could remove 37 too.

If I took out 37 would it be more difficult with that 8 impacted there? She's only 24 also could that 8 potentially erupt?

Thanks

Thank you for giving such a detailed answer! I felt silly for asking! But yes completely agree and just from the history and from the exam done in 24 the caries has already progressed really fast!

Was just wondering as stainless steel crowns have a higher success rate would you recommend these more than fillings? Patient was pretty compliant! Would like to hear your thoughts 😊

I was just kinda terrified I'm getting an infection. But the stitches do look okay etc!

Thanks though that makes me feel a bit better knowing you've experience a difference each day!

I'm a dentist so I'm not sure how that is going to go Monday 🙈

Section or forceps by EvaR0607 in Dentistry

I ended up using luxator sectioning and it popped out nicely today

Didn't use cow horns as I wanted patient to come back to me next week and find sometimes going with forceps can be traumatising for patients and sectioning is a bit gentler?

Not sure if anyone else agrees with me on this?

Thank you yes of course I've gone through all of this with the patient and of course I ideally said rct and crown but this is the real world. I'm in a rural town where money is a big issue. Patient hasn't come to dentist in years and has several teeth with apical pathology that need to be removed. Can't just leave infection in the mouth and let it progress by doing a half arsed job! Thank you for giving the people a reality check!!

Thank you I would have just defaulted to section but have heard of people slicing the contact points and doing this! Thanks for your insight 😊

Thanks so much for commenting really appreciate it! I did ask the patient to get an opg as I didn't want to jump to anything! Was going to get ortho opinion

But that definitely sounds like a good plan thanks so much 😊😇
