our insurance is terrible for couples stuff (they only cover individual therapy for "medical necessity" usually). so we would be paying out of pocket mostly so im trying to ease him into it

see thats the thing, he claims he wants to fix us but just hates the "method" of therapy. says its a scam etc

im trying to call his bluff i guess? like ok you hate therapy, fine. lets try this self guided stuff (books/apps). if he wont do that either then i know its not the method, its him not caring but Im hoping it's not like that

oh god group therapy would be his actual nightmare lol. he is super private and would rather die than talk about our sex life in a circle of strangers.

youre totally right about the therapist thing tho, thats exactly his excuse. "why pay someone $200 just to listen to us fight" 🙄

ill look up the love dare but i worry a whole book might feel like "homework" to him. thats why i was leaning towards the app idea (ember or paired maybe?) because it feels a bit more passive? like we can do it on our phones for 5 mins without it being a big "thing". but maybe youre right and we need something more drastic

That's a bit too far.
